Many of us grew up with gaming but unfortunately, in many ways, gaming hasn’t grown up with us. We’re still the purchasers of hackneyed trash and in most cases, we do it with a smile. I had an opening rant prepared on the review system for this editorial but after lengthy consideration, I will defer to Rob Reiner and his mockumentary classic, This is Spinal Tap.
Nigel Tufnel: The numbers all go to eleven. Look, right across the board, eleven, eleven, eleven and...
Marty DiBergi: Oh, I see. And most amps go up to ten?
Nigel Tufnel: Exactly.
Marty DiBergi: Does that mean it's louder? Is it any louder?
Nigel Tufnel: Well, it's one... More »
A firm launch date for other territories has yet to be officially announced, aside from a vague fall release window.
However, considering that the developer is European based, it wouldn’t be unreasonable to expect a release in both Europe and the U.S. around the same date.
To quote, roughly translated from French: "Announced for October in Europe and the USA, but without specific day, LittleBigPlanet has reached its official date for Japan: October 30, 2008, priced at 5,980 yen (36 €)."
To quote: Following on from yesterdays Access the USA PSN Video Store with EU located story I thought I would today go through the process of purchasing content from the USA Video store.
Video Part 2 is below, enjoy!
Sony Online Entertainment's PS3 games will also support MMO and persistent gaming (where things keep happening in the world while you're away). Games like The Agency and DC Universe Online will offer co-op and competitive play. The Agency will offer an almost ARG (alternate reality gaming) experience, with communications from characters spanning beyond the game itself (websites, cellphone communicaitons and text messages). Watch for more details on those here soon.
PlayStation Home will support up to 64 gamers per area at a time. Home will allow gamers to gather 'round a pond for a race with remote control boats. In the E3 showcas... More »

To quote: During a press conference in Santa Monica, SCEE President, David Reeves, said the online 3D community service would arrive "with the same specs, same support and at the same time in autumn 2008." He went on to say that an exact date for its release would be announced by SCEI "very shortly."
Home has been delayed by almost a year from its original launch date. The service creates a virtual social environment to interact with other PS3 users, launch online games such as Warhawk, play mini-games such as bowling and pool, share private content and show off your personal space customised with furniture, wallpaper and other items.

Update: The Official Web site of Digital Extremes, better known as the developer who brought us Dark Sector but who are also helping in the BioShock port, displays the very same box art. This must at least be confirmation that Home will be out before BioShock releases in October.
On Monday, SpikeTV are set to reveal BioShock PS3 goodness, making us unconventionally excited about what most would call a “port.” But hey, one of last year’s most critically acclaimed games is meeting an entirely new audience. A glance at the box art reveals another reason for PS3 owners to get excited.
On his very own blog, Geoff Keighly hints at what will be in store for BioShock fans this Monday;
Another game set to debut on the show is BioShock PLAYSTATION 3. Now I know what you’re thinking...’why are you guys making a big deal out of a port?’ Well I can’t spoil the surprise just yet, but let me... More »

Manucc1, a member of Spanish community Elotrolado (linked above), believes there may be a possible PS3 exploit in the PS3 Controller... although SIXAXIS or DS3 is not specified, and it could work in a similar manner to the Pandora Batteries in the PSP.
This claim is based primarily on speculation that in the PS3 controller there is a chip that is the same as on PSP, and it is alleged to control Firmware in some fashion.
Info on the chip is available HERE, and a list of IC chips in PS3 is available HERE.
This EEPROM chip may allow Firmware to be installed (when you install Firmware on PS3, you always have to use the controller... before 2.1, you had to plug the controller in via USB).

Shhhh... In a recent IGN video clip Ken Lobb (Creative director of Microsoft game studios) showed the world game play footage of the latest Banjo-Kazooie installment. With all this talk about a motion controller coming to the Xbox 360, could it actually be happening? Apparently so!
In the IGN video clip it clearly shows Ken Lobb playing through the hub world of Nuts and Bolts. Whilst playing the game he moves Banjo up close to a crane. He then states that Kazooie has a special wrench that is used on certain items. He continued saying “you basically grab with the wrench, and then you twist the controller around and it will move different things in the game”. So he basically confirmed a motion censored controller right?
I hope that if this statement is correct and that the “Newton” controller is finally confirmed at E3 that Microsoft use i... More »
