Today PSP developer FreePlay has released UnBar v0.1, which is an expansion of UnBeat (also linked below, unpacks PSN game 'Beats' .BAR files). UnBar processes the .BAR files from the Home BETA for PlayStation 3.

Download: UnBar v0.1 for PS3 / UnBeat for PSN / Home 0.86 XML / Home BETA 0.86

From the ReadMe File: To use this program, just drag/drop a .BAR file onto the .EXE, or run it from your command prompt/shell with the .BAR file as the argument.

I can't guarantee it'll work ALL the time, but it seems to work OK with the Home Beta 0.86 files. It can correctly identify the following:

* Various types of XML files used by Home
* Unicode XML files
* Java classes
* MIG, ... More »

Sony has apparently developed an incredibly flexible 2.5" screen, which can do a whole lot of flexing and still be in perfect condition!

The video is below, and comes courtesy of RiftDisruptor via GameTrailers.

The caption simply reads: A small flexible screen from SONY.

Now bad indeed to demonstrate their constant advances in technology, eh?

Enjoy!

The first bit of “Fusion” that AMD is releasing today is an in-house designed software utility that was described to us as being able to “turn a mainstream PC into a lean, mean gaming machine.”

Essentially, this Fusion Gaming tool is a utility that automates many of the tweaks that hardcore enthusiasts carry out in order to free up system resources for the purpose of maximizing gaming performance. The utility works by temporarily disabling background services and processes, freeing up memory and CPU cycles in an effort to make games run more smoothly.

AMD demonstrated the application to us clicking the gigantic “Fusion” button on a Windows Vista desktop, which immediately shut down usually active applications such as Skype, Google Talk, as well as many other background services. The utility will not, however, override any applications that have a shutdown or save dialog, meaning that clicking the button will still allow Microsoft Word to prompt if ... More »

Use Coupon Code: holiday at check-out to get 15% OFF your order!

As the title states, here is a list of 10 XBox 360 tricks that you won't hear from Microsoft:

1. Connect your Xbox 360 to two screens at once

If you've got one of the component/composite dual video cables – the one that comes in the box with most 360s – you can have your console display its gamey goodness on two TVs simultaneously. The trick is to flick the cable's switch to Standard Definition but hook up the composite (yellow) cable to one screen and the component (the red, green, blue) cables to another. It won't be high-def, but it could be handy if you're staging a mini LAN party and want to set up a display for bored spectators to point their eyes at.

2. Play your own music in original Xbox games

That you can fire up your own MP3s during a 360 game is common knowledge (and re-soundtracking moody horror games with the Benny Hill theme tune never stops being funny), but it doesn't work if you're playing a title f... More »

Months ago TechRadar released a list of 10 tricks that Sony hasn’t revealed to no one. Well guess what, that’s not all! There are now 16 PS3 tricks that Sony hasn’t mentioned to anyone. Are there still more secrets that Sony is trying to hide from us. We will find out soon...

(1) Play games from any country
Harbouring a desire to play Super Gaiden Ninja XI? Now you can. In fact, you can handily play any PS3 game from any country. On holiday in the States and spot the latest release at a bargain dollar-to-pound price? Help yourself. So far, at least, PS3 games aren’t being region coded. That said PS2 and PS1 games are so you can’t play a US title on a Euro console.

And let’s not forget that Blu-ray movies are region-coded so the barriers aren’t completely down yet.

(2) The secret video reset
One of the most annoying as... More »

Capping off three days of gaming, competing, creating and record breaking was the final keynote address given by NVIDIA Senior VP of Marketing, Daniel Vivoli. It was the culmination of all of the major events of the convention–results for the Guinness World Record, ESWC, the Demoscene and NVScene challenges–as well as the winners of best visual application and emerging companies. But what really stole the show: the Mythbusters blowout demo.

Congratulating the daunting task of completing a new Guinness World Record was the first highlight of the show. A total of 203 gamers played for 36-hours straight against each other–no small feat indeed. For their efforts, those that completed were awarded with customized plaques commemorating their achievement, gift certificates, a refund on their registration fee and sweet, custom NVIDIA-themed shoes by Nike.
