In the batch of leaks going up on NeoGAF and elsewhere: Guitar Hero World Tour (aka GH IV) will feature new controls on the guitar neck, plus a raft of A-list artists including, curiously, the Doors.

"New touch-sensitive guitar Neck Slide opens up the entire guitar neck for unbound solos - shred how you want," says the leaked docs.

Word up to this point had promised an upgraded guitar but no details. The game will also roll out with drums with cymbals, and a mike, which we knew. The drums are wireless and will have quiet pads.

At this rate, GH and Rock Band enthusiasts will have a garage full of obsolete instruments, and this kit is likely to set you back $179.99. But that money also buys you tracks from Jimi Hendrix, The Doors, Foo Fighters, Smashing Pumpkins, Korn, System of a Down, Ozzy Osbourne, Interpol, Muse "and dozens more".

The Doors — let's keep an eye on that... More »

Nearly one in five of the 1,000 women polled admitted to causing accidents while using Wii Fit, including bumping into furniture, smashing flowerpots, banging their heads and of course, pulling muscles.

A whopping 86 per cent of those surveyed said that they either already owned Wii Fit or planned on buying it. See? We told you Wii Fit was a risk to your health. :P

As promised, below you will find a video of our PS3 TEST SD Launcher. The quality is not great nor was there sound, but it's the best capture from the old camera we have so we improvised and added a tune in the background.

A video capture of the PS3 would have been much clearer, but we wanted to show the PS3 in the video as well. It starts from the XMB, and allows non-NPDRM SELF's to be executed from SD card.

In the video you can see the SD Launcher loading and booting to the select screen. There is the ability to "move" throughout the list, and upon hovering on your slot of choice, pressing X.

At the moment the titles and locations are hardcoded, we need to add in support for reading either a filelist or the PARAM.SFO's.

The real impressive part of the video is in regards to the Ridge Racer 7 Demo. We obtained the Ridge Racer 7 Demo from an Official PlayStation Magazine Demo Disc. Upon r... More »

Are you good at Guitar Hero III? Not by the standards of a man named Daniel Johnson, you're not, because if you were you'd be the world record holder. He's broken the world record for a Guitar Hero III score, is what we're saying.

He scored 890,971 on the Xbox 360 version of the game doing the "Through the Fire and Flames" song by Dragonforce on Expert level. That's completely insane. The previous record-holder was a guy called Chris Chike, who scored 880,920 in March.

According to Guinness, who were on hand to record his achievement, Johnson was competing at a Guitar Hero 24-Hour Marathon presented by Blockbuster in Dallas. The idea was to drum up awareness for Education is Freedom, a non-profit foundation that does something to do with children. We didn't bother to learn.

If you're interested in videogame world records, incidentally, be sure to check out The King of Kong, a documentary about... More »

A state court has rejected a move to reinstate a lawsuit against makers of a video game played by a teenager who killed three of his family members in 2004.

The killings occurred on newsman Sam Donaldson's ranch in southern New Mexico.

The lawsuit had alleged that the video game "Grand Theft Auto: Vice City" contributed to the killings because Cody Posey played the game "obsessively" and it trained him to act out the violence when he shot and killed his father, stepmother and stepsister in July 2004. He was 14 at the time of the killings.

Posey's father worked as foreman on Donaldson's ranch.

The lawsuit contended that Take-Two Interactive Software Inc. and its subsidiary, Rockstar Games, and Sony Corporation of America should have foreseen that the game "would spawn such copycat violence." Sony produced the PlayStation 2 on which Posey played the video game.

The lawsuit was filed by Verlin Posey, brother of P... More »

Yesterday I posted a thread in the PlayStation 3 Chat Forum on behalf of the resident PS3 Devs who have been working steadily towards the ultimate goal of unlocking the PS3's full potential. Up until now, much of what they have been doing has been quite technical and didn't require much end-user assistance.

Over the last 2-3 days they have made significant progress in multiple areas of the PS3 (which will be detailed in the Site News), however, they are now asking the PS3 community to "get out of your armchair" (see video below- the ball symbolizes the PS3, the goal is unsigned code, and the community are in the chairs). How can you help? Check the Forums daily: [PS3 Dev Request]: Have a PSP and familiar with .RCO files?

Photographs from the location shoot of the new Max Payne movie have emerged online, revealing Chris O'Donnell in character for the first time.

While Mark Wahlberg is the titular character, Chris O'Donnell plays an executive tied into the big conspiracy that led to the death of Payne's family. He's seen here walking along the snowy streets of New York, either asleep, annoyed or simply caught by the camera at the wrong moment.

Thanks to Film School Rejects for the shots, and there's another shot of Wahlberg as Payne (you can see the first one here).

Max Payne: The Movie is still due sometime this year.

A few more pics can be seen at the link up top of this story!
