Update: The patch is now available in North America too!

Naughty Dog and Sony Computer Entertainment have just released a 13MB file v1.01 patch for Uncharted: Drakes Fortune, which enables Trophy support for the title.

Here are the details on the Trophy system:

-There will be 48 Trophies in Uncharted; 47 Trophies for finding treasures, participating in hand-to-hand or gun combat etc, one platinum Trophy for unlocking all other Trophies
-The Trophies are tied to the medal rewards which already exist in Uncharted
-It's not possible to attain all Trophies in one playthrough
-To earn Trophies, you must start a new game without any medals or rewards unlocked (if Trophies could be earned retroactively, cheating could occur)
-No other additions or changes outside of Trophies are in the patch

Looks like it's time to pop Uncharted back in the PS3.

Recent evidence has shed light that the Xbox360 arcade is to have a price cut down to £100/$199.99. It is comonly claimed that the £100 price tag is when a console realy takes off, indicating that the Xbox 360 will once again see the dominance it saw prior to the launch of the Wii.

The Wii is currently dominating at the price of £180, despite the Xbox360 arcade being around £160 there hasn't been a significant market shift. However now that the arcade is being reduced to £100 we will see a huge difference; we can expect the other model to follow suit. The 20GB being bought down to £160 and the 60GB coming in at £180.

These price cuts will mean that gamers who previouly set out after Wiis may instead pick up a £100 arcade and games instead of simply the Wii. However we will also see parents contribute, if they are aware their son/daughter is into video games then the arcade is the perfect present for christmas or birthdays.

However it wil... More »

GN has been following the Xbox 360's various hardware alterations for quite a while now, and it's been a pretty interesting story so far. From the original, RRoD prone Xenon mobo to the Zephyr and Falcon successors as well as the upcoming Jasper design, there's been no shortage of news in the field. Today, as a matter of fact, we've got a look at another Xbox 360 chipset, the extremely rare "Opus" as discovered by member Electric Tunder on the Xbox-Underground forums.

Designed specifically to help Microsoft recoup losses on RRoD'd hardware that's been returned for repairs, the Opus chipset is a Falcon-generation mobo that'll snap into original Xenon Xbox 360s. Because it is installed in refurbished Xbox 360 launch chasses, the Opus lacks HDMI-out. It does, however, feature the Falcon-era HANA video chip that supports digital output, which means a really skilled modder could potentially retrofit such a connection.

The Opus also looks to be sporting the 65-nm ... More »

Ken Levine has confirmed that his new IP has entered development proper.

“We’re not in the blue-sky period any more,” said the developer, speaking to VG247 at Develop today. “We’re actually building design elements and building it out… But it’s, you know, it’s going to be pretty crazy ambitious.”

Levine refused to confirm specifically the identity of the new title, but did flesh out some primary details.

“I’ll say this about it. It’s important to us that whatever we do has the same impact on the gamer that BioShock did. And so, I think that the company’s position on us and what we do is that we’re going to be breaking down barriers and breaking down doors.

“Whether we succeed or not, that’s our goal. In terms of our timeline and the resources we have and the people we have working on it, I’m really fortunate to have Bill [Gardner, BioShock’s lead designer - Ed] and Nate [Wells, 2K Boston’s ... More »

Nintendo of Japan, along with 54 other companies, has filed a lawsuit against a number of distributors that import the popular “R4 Revolution” single-slot flash cart.

If you’re not aware, the device — coupled with a MicroSD card — allows users to load unsigned code onto their Nintendo DS, in addition to unauthorized copies of DS titles — otherwise referred to as ROM images.

Nintendo says the R4 cart is causing “immense monetary harm” to software companies, obviously due to its ability to run copied ROM images.

Capcom, Square Enix, Namco Bandai, SEGA, and Altus are just a few of the companies standing behind Nintendo in the suit, which has been filed in the Tokyo District Court under the Unfair Competition Prevention Law.

It's no secret Bionic Commando was one of the hottest games back in the day. The popular franchise has been around since 1988 and to be honest I was beginning to lose hope that we would ever see a sequel for the next-gen console. That was until it was announced in October that Bionic Commando would be released for XBOX 360, PS3 and Windows.

So you already know I've been following it closely and can't wait to get my hands on it. If you're a fan of the franchise you won’t need to be convinced, but just in case you are having doubts read on and you'll see why I am so hyped about it.

1. The Gameplay

Don’t get it twisted we all love the old 2D arcade versions of the game, they were plenty fun for the time, but the thought of swinging around in open world 3D environment with the Bionic Arm has to get you hyped. In the old versions Nathan “Rad” Spencer was unable to jump, he could only use his arm to get from place to place. Now you will be w... More »
