Per Harvard Bonin (Senior Producer, SCEA): Its been quite a busy couple of weeks in Warhawk. We just released Warhawk on the PlayStation 3 Greatest Hits line. It’s really a lot of fun for us to be included and we hope that a lot more players give the game a try. Check out this Training Video from Brady Games to help out these new players.

Also, we recently released Patch 1.4 and the Global Gaming League had its finals!

If you have been watching GGL's Warhawk tournament, you would know that the semifinal matches between Gods Illest, [WAR!], (ONI) and ARMED^ASSASSINS went down this weekend. However, instead of waiting a few days to schedule the finals, the victors, first-seeded [WAR!] and tenth ARMED^ASSASSINS, decided to play their finals match this weekend.

Tiscali.cz (linked above) has posted up a whole new variety of KillZone 2 multiplayer screenshots from E3 2008 as part of their E3 Impressions article.

A rough partial translation from the journalist reads as follows:

Maybe someone will come to a special, but the Killzone 2, I really enjoyed most of all titles, which I plan in Los Angeles to see.

Konami has issued a formal apology on its official Web site in response to the unplanned downtime of its Metal Gear Online servers, following the release of the Gene Expansion pack earlier last week. A statement on the site reads:

We regret to inform that the release of the Expansion Pack “METAL GEAR ONLINE EXPANSION” on 17th July 2008 was marred by major system related problems resulting in great inconveniences for all our customers.

We have been taking numerous correct measures since problems initially started, but unfortunately there are no permanent solutions we can announce at this present moment.

As reported earlier last week, Konami placed a temporary IP restriction on the MGO Shop — still in effect — in order to combat the high server load. The latest round of status updates reveals that the billing system has been given an overhaul and the purchase records of 490 custome... More »

As the storm of E3 approaches, so does our next big update for Warhawk and with it comes 2 entirely new gameplay modes for every map, including the Booster Packs – and these new gameplay modes are completely FREE!

Before I get into the meaty list of updates, let me start off by saying that Warhawk v1.4 will have its global simultaneous release very, very soon... how soon you ask?

When we started designing the new modes, we looked at play styles could freshen up the Warhawk play experience. Four new game modes could be added to Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. The news was struck on Robert Bowling blog, Director of Communications/Community Manager for Infinity Ward.

Here are the details of the new game modes from the blog:

"Thanks to everyone who commented, sent in emails, or contacted me via other means; including the epic presentation I received via the mail this morning containing an entire breakdown of a new game mode complete with a full-size fold out poster (thanks Ian!!).

I received a lot of great suggestions and feedback regarding new playlists you guys would like to see, and this weekend I’m going to be hosting a series of private matches in Call of Duty 4 to test them out. So if you haven’t already, be sure to drop me a message on Xbox Live / PSN as I’ll be cleaning off room on my friends list and inviting anyone interested to help out this weekend.

Square Enix announced their extensive line-up for the E3 Media & Business Summit today, confirming an impressive array of games ranging from re-mastered classics to brand-new IP’s.

In addition to the much anticipated next-gen titles Infinite Undiscovery, The Last Remnant and Star Ocean: The Last Hope, Square Enix introduces Star Ocean: First Departure and Star Ocean: Second Evolution for the PSP system, TAITO Corporation’s Exit DS and The Legend of Kage 2 for Nintendo DS, and Song Summoner: The Unsung Heroes, the first full-scale Role Playing Game created for the iPod.
