We weren’t told what the game would be specifically, but we do know Sony considers the reveal to be a significant part of the conference, which takes place at the show at 5.00pm CET.
Sony’s press conference is leaking a little this morning, with a Gamekyo story based on a sneak look at a run-through of the event yesterday revealing that a new version of SingStar it to feature heavily in the presentation.
We’ll be bringing you the conference live.
Also below is the E3 2008 trailer for Mortal Kombat VS DC Universe.
It is available via YouTube below, courtesy of TheRajmanHD and the caption states, "When two worlds collide, unexpected heroes will fight.".
Enjoy!
Just so you know, the PS3 has 512MB of RAM (256 for video and 256 for system). The Cell chip has 256MB of completely sharable RAM, the GPU has 256MB of dedicated RAM. Now the key here is what type of RAM it is.
The PlayStation 3 has 256mb of GDDR3 at 700mhz and 256Mb of XDR at 3.2ghz. So what exactly is XDR ram? Here are some of the highlights:
- XDR makes PS3 super effiecient
- XDR aids in faster cache mapping, both direct and indirect
- XDR ram works by a pointer to pointer technology and needs very small buswidth for execution
- XDR is not just faster than GDDR3 but it is much more efficient
- XDR RAM works by breaking down data into several packets which prevents data loss and exceptions

Okay... deep breath. The PS3 is kinda broken.
Now we don’t mean that the PS3 will ‘red ring’ at any given opportunity, and we’re not suggesting it’s a console destined for the scrapheap – quite the opposite. When we say the PS3 is broken, we say it with the best of intentions, with a barely contained frustration towards a machine that, in its current state, will never fulfil its full potential.
We’re talking of course about processing bottlenecks, and the PS3 has a tonne of them.
The first major bottleneck is a result of the Blu ray drive. Although Blu-ray has traditionally been seen as the major selling point of the PS3 (and to a certain extent it is) at this ear... More »

It would be interesting to see whether such a device will be able to live up to the 5 hour game time claim. This could be possible if it doesn't use UMDs, but should Sony decide to make it backwards compatible with th... More »

The box of The Bourne Conspiracy PS3 box states that the game requires a 5GB install.
Is anyone else starting to run low on space? :D
To quote: When will it all end? PS3 hard drives are gonna be full everywhere soon. Sure you can upgrade your hard drive, but do developers need to make 5GB installs all the time?
The latest to share the hard drive is The Bourne Conspiracy, which shipped to retailers today from Sierra.
You would figure with the amount of complaining going on about installs that developers would cut it back a bit. I guess not.

A small group of PS3 owners were sent to a facility in [undisclosed location], California to test a new PlayStation product in development.
Once inside the testing facility, these PS3 owners were shown a mini-tripod that stood about 12 inches high. and what looked like 4 black PS3 “wiimotes”. Well they were essentially “wiimotes” for the PS3, but didn’t need a “nunchuck” attachment. I will refer to them as “PS3motes” for now on.
You can have up to 4 of these “PS3motes” connected at one time. A demonstrator at this focus group was there showing off the “PS3motes” capabilities, along with some mini-games to play. The mini games ranged from tennis, to fencing, to a “really really cool” paintball game. The demonstrator even used the “PS3mote” to play “Quake” ... More »
