With her blistering 40 gigabits per second connection, Sigbritt Löthberg had the world's fastest internet connection - many thousands of times faster than the average residential link and the first time ever that a home user had experienced such a high speed.
So after nine months with the ability to download a full high definition DVD in just two seconds or access to 1,500 high definition HDTV channels simultaneously, how has Sigbritt's life changed?
Not much, according to Hafsteinn Jonsson, who is heading up the fibre network operation for Karlstad Stadsnät.
"She mostly used it to dry her laundry," he told The Local.
"It was a big bit of gear and it got pretty warm."
Sigbritt's son, Swedish internet legend Peter Löthberg, was behind the project, which was intended to demonstrate how a low price, high capacity fibre... More »
To quote from the blog comment linked above: So while I can’t say too much, I can say that the team is hard at work on developing some new game modes.
We have a lot of new designs at various phases of development so I can’t say which ones will make the cut for the v 1.4 patch just yet... but rest assured that the next patch *will* have new modes, and of course, they will be free.
Don’t forget that the version 1.3 update is scheduled to hit later next week. :P
As such, PS3 owners should expect downloadable video content, ringtones, interactive movie-based games, and the always intriguing "more" when the software is released in "late March." In other words, in the next 11 days. The update will also allow you to copy photos and music playlists over USB from your PS3 to your PSP. The rest of the new features after the break.
-- "Resume play" will enable PS3 system to start playing a Blu-ray disc
and DVD at the point it was stopped, even if the disc had been
removed.(*1)
-- "Audio Output Device" will be a new Remote Play setting, enabling PSP
to serve as a remote control for music played through PS3.
-- PS3 system's Internet browser will be enhanced: Video files dir... More »
To quote: Internal working documents naturally have proposed dates against titles, but these change frequently and dates are not confirmed until issued as part of a press release or formal announcement.
The same applies to titles of games, which may be working titles or placeholders subject to later confirmation. As a result, no weight should be given to titles or dates that appear in this document, other than to those which have already been formally confirmed.
In summary, the list is indeed real, but the dates on it are subject to change. :P

According to the document, PlayStation Home is set for release in July, 2008.
The .xls file is reportedly an attached file sent in an e-mail by SCEE to videogame Press people with scheduled releases.
Of course this is all just speculation until SCEE confirms it, but perhaps it's a clearer indication of a definitive Home public release timeframe.
Just as we thought the battle between Microsoft’s Xbox 360 and Sony’s PS3 couldn’t get any more interesting, the fight has just gotten a lot more fierce. The general consensus was that 2008 would be the year of the PS3. The year it finally sinks its teeth into the market to wrestle market share away from Microsoft and Nintendo.
But before Sony could even make a move, Microsoft has pre-emptively spanked the PlayStation 3 in the face. It’s unabashedly Wii’d on Sony’s fire whilst giving it the proverbial finger. Effectively it’s neutered the PS3 before it even had a chance to challenge. And how? By massively reducing the price of its Xbox 360 consoles.
It’s staggering - £150 for an Xbox 360 Arcade? That’s HALF THE PRICE of the PS3, and £20 cheaper than a Nintendo Wii – how can Sony even hope to compete with that?

Details have emerged for the PS3 Blue tooth headset and the GPS unit. The PS3 headset will cost $49.99 for the standalone version and the SOCOM: Confrontation bundle will cost $59.99, it is expected to launch in July/August.
The PSP GPS Unit will apparently be competitive against any current GPS system and will be a extremely high value/low consumer cost portable navigation solution.

While the gaming industry has its success stories and million-sellers like Halo, Call of Duty, and World of Warcraft, there are games out there that stood out just as much with fantastic gameplay and unique concepts that didn’t sell anywhere near as well.
While they may have not made mountains of money, here is my top 10 games that should be in every gamer’s library (but likely aren’t).
10. Okami
by Capcom Entertainment
A case of a game doing extremely well in the ratings and selling quite poorly, Okami is looking to get a new lease on life with the upcoming Wii port.
9. Oddworld Stranger's Wrath
by EA Games
Stranger’s Wrath had a fantastically realized world and fun and quirky gameplay, but failed to be a mainstream hit.
8. Conker's Bad Fur Day
by Nintendo
