In what seems to be a kind of Grand Theft Auto brought to life, two teens were kidnapped in Baltimore by four people who were searching for information regarding a stolen PlayStation 3 console and a missing PS3 game.

The entire story and especially the details are not fully known at the moment, since the two teens are still in hospital and three of the kidnappers have not been caught yet by the police forces.

Officer Troy Harris, the Baltimore police spokesman, said that the two kids, aged 16, were kidnapped from a bus stop, held captive in a car for several hours, beaten and asked about a PlayStation 3 and PS3 game the teens say they knew nothing about.

The kids were released from the car after the kidnappers gave them new clothes and $20 to pay for the ride to a hospital (which seems, let's face it, rather strange).

"They were beaten, cut and burned, and the suspects kept asking about a PS game, which the victims said they ... More »

Those clever hackers have done it again! Hacker group VladsBoys’ analysis of the pirated copy of GTA IV for the 360 (leaked days before retail release) has reeled in a big one. The cyber-sleuths knew they were on the trail of something big and yes, you guessed it, they found another never-intended-for-retail-consumption chunk of code in a GTA game.

What the hackers found seems to be an abandoned mission that Rockstar at some point intended on including in the game. We have no idea how far into the process this mission got before it was pulled, but we’re pretty sure they knew what they were doing by the mission name… that name was Hot Coughing.

Hacker R*Fan4Lyfe noted in a forum post that while the audio files for the mission were not included in the disc image (and presumably are not on the retail disc either,) the subtitles for the mission dialogue were still present. The mission involves Niko going to the hospital after pulling a groin muscle in... More »

Earlier last week, one of the PS3 Devs sent his PS3 Debug/TEST unit off to another resident Dev (who also successfully did a PS3 Retail Flash dump early last year) to have the PS3 Flash dumped.

Well, it has been done! In an amazing feat taking all of 10 minutes, Courier pulled the two PS3 NAND Flash chips from the PS3 TEST and dumped them. Nothing like a hot air rework station in the hands of a professional!

So, the PS3 TEST Flash has been dumped! We also had a chance to do a preliminary analysis on it as we have seen and catalogued nearly 15 seperate PS3 Retail Flash dumps- and there is only (1) constant string in the section we are examining in all of them.

But in the PS3 TEST, it differs!!

More information will be posted soon, but the plan is now to replace said data on a Retail PS3 system, and by doing so modifying its identity to pass the update verification so t... More »

I can't see anyone there, it's like me being the last man on earth. I haven't seen anyone yet, so far I have been in the (I think its) something Squar- the theather, and right now I'm in the bowling alley.

He also shared a video (below) and states: Here is PS3 Home BETA crashing, what I do in the video is this: First I try to connect to the servers and it fails. Then I press X to try to connect again, and almost simultaneously I press the PS button and go to quit. It then says please wait and then the ps3 finally crashes when you hear the 2 beeps.

Hi, My name is Krystian and my english is bad, that's all about me :)

Update: The Variety Map Pack is now available from the Xbox Live Marketplace. The download is about 445MB. Description from the Xbox 360 Dashboard: "Reinforcements have arrived!

The Variety Map Pack includes four new multiplayer maps featuring a variety of locations. “Creek,” a wide-open village ravaged by combat where concealment is the difference between life and death; “Broadcast,” fight throughout an enemy communications building with confined corridors and wide-open parking lots; “Chinatown,” a foggy downtown district, lit only by a full moon and the neon glow of the city; and “Killhouse,” featuring a desolate training warehouse filled with a variety of building mock-ups and soft and hard cover points."

The wait is almost over. The Call of Duty 4 Variety Map Pack (Xbox 360) will be available from the Xbox Live Marketplace at 9:30am EST today, Friday. Have to give credit to COD4 community manager Robert Bowling at iamfourzer... More »

This is revolutionary... It actually works, try it out to go from NAT Type 3 to Type 1 wirelessly.

No messing around on routers to forward ports or setting up DMZ, just access through PS3 network settings.

Works better when firewall on router is on low. This is okay as long as you have Windows firewall on.

Set up through the PS3 following the video below:
