Instead of gaining more experience to level, players work extremely hard to acquire better gear and items. This requires hours of dedication inside dungeons and on raids (a.k.a., much larger dungeons). Raids must be run well by leaders; otherwise, they fail.
Many people just think that end-game content takes too long to get; the end-game is just too hard, takes too much effort.
On top of that, the gear that drops comes in small amounts, meaning only a few members of the party will get anything for all the effort expended in any particular raid. Party members must show up on assigned raid times and follow organized, detailed instructions.

But for more explosive news (who doesn't love a pun?) we recently received two special PS3 PUP files from a VERY nice guy. As pictured below, they are PS3 Debug 1.00 (65.5 MB (68,765,224 bytes)) and PS3 Debug 1.50 (72.2 MB (75,762,080 bytes)).
These PUPs, which are the special downgrade PUPs, allow a user to downgrade their PS3 TEST from any version down to it. For example, with the 1.00 SPECIAL Downgrade PUP a user can be on 2.40, install it, and after a reboot be on 1.00!
1.00, which lacks just about every feature but ON/OFF functionality, will then let us upgrade to any DEV firmware above it.
Which brings us to 1.50... Through examining numerous Sony documentation recently, we have read that in the 1.60 Firmware the PS3's kernel memory and user memory are separated, leading us to believe that the kernel m... More »
So what is the "a lot" part that has gone on lately? Mostly stuff that may eventually lead to newsworthy progress. I myself have recently acquired nearly 1GB of new Sony goodies to play with, and I have been spending much of my freetime examining a lot of the included documentation.
One interesting thing we recently found out is that Sony has released a NEW model PS3 TEST. It is the DECHJ00J/DECHJ00A. It is supported in SDK version 2.17 and later, and features a 40GB Hard Disk Drive, and two USB ports. Like its retail counterpart, it also lacks PS2 hardware, so it can not play PS2 games.
I've also been working with another PS3 Dev on getting Pr... More »
Explanation: So on this day I give to you a PS3 Tri-Fold Attack Potential release (and Update 1.0 Files, NOT NEEDED- but for those who want to examine the file verification system), all stemming from one game that has a very grave security flaw.
Call of Duty 3: Many games prior to discovering this one, had great potential to write files to the PS3 HDD, such as Resistance: FoM, Motorstorm, and Warhawk. Warhawk was a particularly good one at that cause at the time we managed to overwrite other game param.sfo's.

A few short years ago the browser war seemed dead and buried. After Microsoft’s Internet Explorer usurped Netscape’s Navigator in the late 1990s, it’s domination of the Internet seemed complete, over 95 percent of us using a version of IE.
Those days are gone. The guts of Navigator were reborn in 2004 as Firefox, a browser that has been drinking more and more of IE’s milkshake ever since. Firefox now owns at least 18 percent of the market, with some estimates giving it more than a quarter.
More recently, Apple has threatened to start a three-way fight, using the software updater included with iTunes to slip its Safari browser onto PCs. While its market share is miniscule – less than one per cent amo... More »
This time I'd like to share my PS3 Dump Interleaver:
Download: PS3 NAND Dump Interleaver v1.40
PS3 NANDS are read and written interleaved, so if someone wants to check the Firmware content he have to use this tool in order to obtain a file that's like the console manage once we turn it on.
It's for study purposes, to allow skilled people to check the PS3 Firmware.
Some notes: Only full dumps should be used with this tool, old dumps without spare data are invalid so they won't output a valid result.
Swap bytes should be enabled, other checkmarks are there for study purposes.
Beware, almost all files are crypted! ...good study :)

As promised, below you will find a video of our PS3 TEST SD Launcher. The quality is not great nor was there sound, but it's the best capture from the old camera we have so we improvised and added a tune in the background.
A video capture of the PS3 would have been much clearer, but we wanted to show the PS3 in the video as well. It starts from the XMB, and allows non-NPDRM SELF's to be executed from SD card.
In the video you can see the SD Launcher loading and booting to the select screen. There is the ability to "move" throughout the list, and upon hovering on your slot of choice, pressing X.
At the moment the titles and locations are hardcoded, we need to add in support for reading either a filelist or the PARAM.SFO's.
The real impressive part of the video is in regards to the Ridge Racer 7 Demo. We obtained the Ridge Racer 7 Demo from an Official PlayStation Magazine Demo Disc. Upon r... More »

The earlier posted rumors of some cut-scenes in Metal Gear Solid 4 lasting up to 90 minutes was proven false by Sid Shuman.
The resident reporter of gaming magazine GamePro stated "Ninety-minute-long cinemas in MGS4 sounds like an exaggeration... But not a one, to my recollection, even approaches 90 minutes."
To quote in full: "I've completed the game twice, and am the author of the forthcoming [GamePro] review," Shuman said. "Ninety-minute-long cinemas in MGS4 sounds like an exaggeration. Like the other MGS games, MGS4 definitely has a cinematic quality.
And yes, some of the cut-scenes in the game are elaborate and occasionally lengthy. But not a one, to my recollection, even approaches 90 minutes."
"I think it's safe to say that the '90 minute cinemas' claim is a pretty big exaggeration," he told GamePro News.
