The video below from DT042908 is supposedly of the introduction to GTA IV on a leaked PS3 version of the game.

It's of the 'dark' kind, and the game just suddenly appears and starts running.

Real? Fake? You decide! :P

As a means of expanding the site I though it would be a good idea if we set up a [PS3NEWS] CoD4 Clan Tag. This would raise awareness of the site online and increase the community spirit within the members of the site.

Members could flaunt their commitment to the site and we could set up Clan-based matches online. We could also set up a STICKY Forum thread with a list of [PS3NEWS] Clan members PSN IDs so that you can easily find friends who are part of it and add them to your friends list.

If anyone would be intrested in such a idea the please post in the Forum thread linked to this article (or HERE) with your PSN ID and if we get enough interest then it may be something we would consider in the near future.

According to rumors in the PSM3 magazine, we are going to have to wait a few months to see in game XMB. The magazine also states that Sony may soon make a big announcement about Home, that will reveal achievements to rival the Xbox live system.

To quote: Dubbed ‘the man who knows too much’, their insider teases us with some of the latest PlayStation murmurings:

- In game XMB will be coming, however not for a few months yet.

- He tells us to expect a ‘big’ announcement involving Home, including information about ‘trophies’ or achievements “to rival the Xbox live system”.

- A sequel for a popular Xbox 360 title will be ‘received’ soon, and that it will be making its first appearance on the PS3, he also states this isn’t Lost Planet.

- He also suggests that any big 2008 announcements which Sony has for the PS3 will not come in the form of new games, however there are surprises in store, and they will fo... More »

We announced this notice some time ago, now I would like to show you a picture of the tool I compiled to do the job. You need the Infectus mod-chip on your PS3 to downgrade. This mod-chip allows you to take a backup of your current PS3 Firmware that can be restored.

The news is that before it wasn't possible to downgrade without a previous dump of your own PS3 console's Firmware, but now things have changed. :)

Using this tool you can modify a NAND backup in order to let the console think it has a lower Firmware version, so later you can use an official Sony upgrade PUP file to "downgrade" to the version you need.

It has been tested to patch all PS3 Firmware dumps up to 2.10 so far, but is a work-in-progress as we still need to test re-updating more thoroughly.

I would like to thanks to Gigi and Mainman for their support in this tool, and all the other PS3News Devs for helping us in ... More »

With the recent announcement that EGM’s next cover story will feature Socom Confrontation, one can’t help but get excited for the game, especially after it seemed to have fallen off the map last winter in terms of announcements and news.

The Socom franchise has been the backbone to Sony’s online service since late 2002, providing players with competitive gameplay and extensive clan support. To help fill the void between what’s rumored to be Zipper Interactive’s next entry into the Socom world, Slant Six has promised to give fan’s a chance to relive that classic Socom feel, which was undoubtedly absent from both Socom 3 and Combined Assault, by bringing back old maps such as Crossroads and focusing solely on the online multiplayer aspect of Confrontation.

However to the fan, that’s easier said than done. Here are five features that will make or break Socom Confrontation.

1) Ignore Matchmaking

One of Socom’s featured pe... More »
