Sony on Destiny PS4: PlayStation 4's Biggest Software Launch Yet

50°
5w ago - Sony Developer and Publisher Relations Vice President Adam Boyes revealed today that Destiny PS4 is PlayStation 4's biggest software launch yet!

To quote: What a week! Since [Register or Login to view links] launched one week ago, it has officially become the biggest PS4 game launch in North America ever.

The game broke records for being the fastest purchased and most played PS4 game during its first week on sale. In fact, last week was our single biggest PS4 hardware sales week since Christmas 2013! That's a lot of PS4s. Thanks, Guardians!

Destiny also racked up some impressive gameplay stats, with PS4 players across North America collectively accumulating more than 11 million gameplay sessions - that's a lot of Guardians! Destiny players have also made full use of PS4's social features; it was the most shared and most broadcasted PS4 game during its first week on sale.

From everyone at PlayStation, we want to say thank you to the fans - none of this would be possible without you! If you're like me you have been up until the wee hours of the morning playing 'just one more match' with your Fireteam (I'm still trying to get to 26 with my Warlock to prep for Vault of Glass!).

Sony Announces Biggest Publish Yet Heading to PlayStation Plus

100°
203w ago - As a follow-up to the EU post from earlier today, Sony PlayStation Store Senior Manager Grace Chen has announced that their biggest publish yet is heading to PlayStation Plus for subscribers.

To quote: I'm happy to let you know that we'll offer our biggest PlayStation Plus publish to date coming up in December just in time for the Holidays!

We will be giving more than $50 of content over the next two weeks, essentially paying for a full year's subscription to PlayStation Plus, making December a great month to sign up.

Kicking things off on December 7 is the LittleBigPlanet spin-off PSN title, Sackboy Prehistoric Moves. Enjoy 10 unique Move-enabled levels on a multiplayer adventure filled romp through the land of dinosaurs. Best of all, PlayStation Plus subscribers get Sackboy Prehistoric Moves free AND a week before everyone else.

Earlier this year, European PlayStation Plus subscribers were given a full season download of Sam & Max: The Devil's Playhouse, regularly priced at $34.99. We heard the feedback that US subscribers would like the same content and are happy to report that all five episodes will be available to US PlayStation Plus subscribers on...

Video: PlayStation EyeToy - Innovation and Beyond for PS3

250°
207w ago - Sony Computer Entertainment America's Senior Researcher Richard Marks takes a look back at the EyeToy today, starting with the PlayStation 2 all the way to the PlayStation Move through video footage!

To quote: It's hard to believe it's been 10 years since the PlayStation 2 launched and 11 years since I first started here at Sony Computer Entertainment America.

Over the last decade, I've had the privilege of working on some of PlayStation's latest and greatest - the EyeToy being one of my first big projects when I joined the company in 1999.

The EyeToy USB camera was the first of its kind to translate your body movements into game controls, map your face onto in-game characters and more. It was created to allow you to physically interact with games, such as Antigrav, EyeToy Play and Kinetic, using your body.

The unencumbered feeling of no wires and feeling free (instead of connected to your television) was very important, as was the simplicity of the controls. Everyone, even non-gamers, felt like they could just jump in and play, which was great.

We learned a lot from our experience creating EyeToy, and it has definitely played a significant role in the development of PlayStation Move. We've pulled together a quick look back at the technology...

JVL Encore HD Games Console Could Be Most Expensive Yet!

50°
268w ago - For a mere [Register or Login to view links] the JVL Encore HD offers an integrated 22" LCD touchscreen, a hi-fi audio system, overhead lighting, a coin slot, and a selection of over 130 games, although if you're looking for Halo, Mario Kart or Madden, you'll be disappointed.

To quote: "It's a home version of commercial bar-top puzzle game machines, and offers "gem-swapping puzzles, poker matches, Sudoku challenges and trivia-based digital diversions," according to USA Today's [Register or Login to view links].

Game Hunters also liked the system's flashy looks and its thumping five-speaker sounds, but its basic graphics aren't going to impress gamers used to machines made in the last few years, and surprisingly (for a machine that boasts the HD moniker) only 11 of its games are in high definition."

PS3 HDD Studio 2.08 Available, Yet Another PS3 HDD Tool

1100°
277w ago - I wanted to avoid to release PS3 HDD Studio since I think that every public hack tool will turn into a hole fix if it's fixable.

My opinion is that until we find a definitive hack we should keep our studies private since most probably there would be a fix.

By the way since a similar tool has been released yesterday I think mine could be releases since there is no point into keeping private anymore (the methods used is the same KnightSolidus discovered some time ago).

Download: PS3 HDD Studio v2.08

Below I wrote some note on how this tool should be used, these notes cover few options, I don't have time to write down a good tutorial :P

#GETTING STARTED + NOTES#

• Everytime you install a new version of firmware you should create 2 merged backups of the HDD used to encrypt/decrypt):

• It's suggested to use 2 Hdd, one to be used only to decrypt/encrypt thw dummy and the other one that contains the data you
wants to encrypt/decrypt. You can use 1 Hdd only but it would require more time.

• First of all you have to Prepare your littler Hdd and...
