8w ago - Sony Social Media Specialist Justin Massongill posted up a Final Fantasy XIV Q&A dubbed Headed Heavensward on PlayStation 4 (and PlayStation 3) today with details below.

To quote: It's a good time to be an Eorzean. Final Fantasy XIV patch 2.4, Dreams of Ice, has just released, adding new dungeons, the rogue class and ninja job, a new primal battle with long-standing series summon Shiva, The Final Coil of Bahamut - the third and final chapter of FFXIV's ultimate end-game raid, and countless other tweaks and new features.

Square Enix also just announced FFXIV 3.0 Heavensward, a whole new expansion that will add way too much content for me to list in an opening paragraph. Well okay, a few highlights: Dark Knight class! New areas and primals! New playable race! Flying Chocobos and single-rider airships! That's all coming in Spring 2015.

Finally, fans worldwide have had the chance to attend the first-ever FFXIV Fan Festival - recently held in Las Vegas and London, with an upcoming stop in Tokyo. I attended the first of these events, and had the great pleasure of sitting down with Naoki Yoshida (Yoshi-P to his friends and fans), the producer and director of Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn.

Naoki Yoshida: Thank you so much for taking time to come to the Final Fantasy XIV...

Toxic Games Announces Q.U.B.E. 2 is Coming to PlayStation 4

19w ago - Toxic Games Managing Director Dan Da Rocha announced today that Q.U.B.E. 2 is coming to PlayStation 4 with details below.

To quote: Hello, Toxic Games here. You may have heard of our first game called Q.U.B.E, which came out on PC in 2012 and is heading to PS3 and PS4 soon. Well, we're now working on the sequel, Q.U.B.E. ².

On the team we have the original line-up including myself Dan Da Rocha, Dave Hall, and Jon Savery. Since the launch of the original game we have been busy working on adding extra content to the original to form Q.U.B.E. Director's Cut and are now focusing on bringing Q.U.B.E. ² to PS4.

The sequel is going to refine the core mechanics of the original. There will be a slew of new and exciting puzzles that will boggle your mind, and a tightly woven narrative which will further expand the Q.U.B.E. universe. Oh, and it's being developed in Unreal Engine 4, so dem cubes are going to be extra shiny... just when you thought cubes couldn't look any better!

And to top it all off, we plan to support Project Morpheus. We've already taken the hardware for a spin and it's shaping up to be something fantastic so we can't wait to get our hands (or gloves?) on a kit to begin developing for it!

Video: Final Fantasy XIV Patch 2.3: Defenders of Eorzea Now Live

50°
24w ago - Square Enix Community Project Manager Hergen Thaens shared a video today spotlighting the Final Fantasy XIV Patch 2.3 announcing Defenders of Eorzea is now live!

To quote: Good morning, everyone! Every few months, something magical happens here at Square Enix.

While we're watching all of you adventurers, fighting your way through Eorzea, we think to ourselves "We should give them more. We can give them more. It's been three months already!" - and then, in a secret and mysterious ceremony, High Priest of the Code Yoshida-san gets the dev team together, places a development PC in a magic circle, together with some Final Fantasy artifacts, energy drinks and fast food, and, using ancient magic, summons forth a mighty content update!

Well, ok. There may be a lot more actual work and a bit less actual magic involved. But that doesn't change the fact that as you are reading this, the update has just been applied to the servers! Also, I'd really love to see the scene described above in art form - any artists reading this?

What do you mean, you don't know what this update adds to the game? We can't have that. Watch the 2.3 trailer right here, right now, and then tell me you're not looking forward to joining in!
