Ubisoft Writer Reveals to OPM that Far Cry 3 is in Development

261w ago - Today Ubisoft scriptwriter Kevin Shortt revealed to The Official PlayStation Magazine (OPM) that although not personally working on Far Cry 3 he knows the team that is and it looks pretty exciting.

To quote: "Speaking at a recent Avatar junket, OPM asked Ubisoft scribe Kevin Shortt if he was working on a third Far Cry title and instead of the usual "no comment", the mag received a refreshing response...

"No I'm not," he replied honestly. "But I know the team are and what I've seen looks pretty exciting." Far Cry 3 confirmed then, just like that.

Other than that blatant response, it's mostly guess work so far on what we should expect from Far Cry 3.

Last year though narrative designer Patrick Redding did mention that a sequel would likely retain an African setting, though he also mentioned Antarctica as a possibility."
 

Turner Hired by Sony as Writer for Upcoming inFamous Movie

278w ago - Just what isn't inFamous getting these days? Just days after inFamous LittleBigPlanet Costumes were unveiled comes another announcement... Sony has hired a writer for an inFamous movie.

According to HollywoodReporter.com (linked above), to quote:

Screenwriter Sheldon Turner is becoming even more "inFAMOUS."

Sony Pictures has pre-emptively picked up a pitch from Turner to adapt the Sucker Punch Prods. video game into a feature film. The deal is for seven figures.

The studio is working out a deal for rights to the game, which was published by sister company Sony Computer Entertainment.

Avi Arad and Ari Arad will produce. Sony executives Matt Tolmach and Jonathan Kadin are handling for the studio.
 

Buffalo Tech announce external Blu-ray/HD DVD player/writer

359w ago - Buffalo Technology announced today the market's first external Blu-ray and HD DVD player, that allows users to both read and write Blu-ray content. The USB device can also read HD DVD discs.

It is expected to be hitting the US during Q1 2008 with an estimated street price of $649. To quote:
