35w ago - Trion Worlds Director of Community Elizabeth Tobey has revealed that Defiance is out today on PlayStation 3 alongside a video launch trailer!
Below are the details, as follows: Defiance, the massive open-world shooter from Trion Worlds, is out today on PS3. Set in 2046, Defiance puts you in the shoes of an Ark Hunter.
Hired by Von Bach Industries to scour the terraformed San Francisco Bay area for valuable alien technology that has crashed onto earth, your adventures are the result of a massive war that waged for years on the ground and in the skies.
During your journey, you'll team up with fellow Ark Hunters in order to find more tech, weapons, and loot. There will be times when you'll find yourself facing off against other players: in Defiance, friends are a rare and ephemeral commodity.
Get a taste of what awaits in our full-length launch trailer "Welcome to the New Age" featuring "Radioactive" by Imagine Dragons.

121w ago - Sony Senior Social Media Specialist Sid Shuman has shared a Starhawk PlayStation 3 Q&A interview today entitled Building Better Worlds for fans.
To quote: Starhawk is a rare beast - a big-budget shooter with a story to tell. That tale centers squarely on Emmett Graves, a reluctant protagonist saddled with some serious baggage.
I spoke with Harvard Bonin, Sony Santa Monica Studios' Senior Producer on Starhawk, to try and get a grip on what makes Emmett Graves tick.
PSB: A gigantic multiplayer shooter that includes RTS elements has been seen as something of a gaming Holy Grail. Which part did you conceptualize first – shooter, or RTS?
Harvard Bonin, Senior producer, Sony Santa Monica Studios: At first, we just wanted to do a sequel to Warhawk and set it in space - just bring a new setting, story, and a solo campaign. But we realized that we needed to bring something extra, so when LittleBigPlanet came out, we thought, "wouldn't it be cool to make your own shooter?"
So, we tried it, and we actually have test levels back at the office. Instead of LittleBigPlanet giving you these macro tools, we gave you these almost jigsaw puzzle pieces – anything that you saw in a level, you could've built in this early prototype.
178w ago - Senior Social Media Specialist Sid Shuman has shared a video today from E3 2010 previewing Two Worlds II for Sony's PS3 entertainment system.
To quote: Fans of epic open-world RPGs like The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion and Fallout 3 will want to keep their eyes peeled for Two Worlds II, an upcoming fantasy RPG that's headed to the PS3 this fall from developer Reality Pump.
I sat in on a demonstration at E3 to learn more about the game, but before I start yammering away, check out the trailer below to get a sense of the universe and visual style.
Set in a massive open world teeming with animal life, Two Worlds II is an RPG that's intensely focused on player freedom. You won't find rigid character classes like "Barbarian" or "Thief."
Instead, you'll build a custom class by assigning skill points across a wide range of talents: assassination, melee combat, trade, lockpicking, and magic to name just a few. Want to combine the spell-casting acumen of a Wizard with the brute melee force of a Warrior? No problem: just assign your skill and stat points accordingly.
You use the directional pad to swap quickly between your gear loadouts, so you could soften...

212w ago - Today Dailymail.co.uk (linked above) is reporting that the world's first iPhone virus has surfaced, which apparently changes your wallpaper to a picture of Rick Astley.
Since the recent jigbreak, those who did not change their root password are vulnerable as it will reportedly turn on the iPhone's SSH service.
To quote: "A 21-year-old Australian claims to be the first hacker in the world to infect the iPhone with a virus.
It spreads between phones with each call but the damage extends to changing the device's wallpaper - to a photo of Eighties pop star Rick Astley famous for his hit Never Gonna Give You Up.
Sydney student Ashley Towns said he wanted to raise the issue of security, adding: 'What I've done has shown that anyone can easily hack into an iPhone'.
Mr Towns' virus can only infect iPhones which have been 'jailbroken' by their owners - an action that allows phone owners to install applications on their phones which have not been approved by Apple."
