9w ago - Bethesda Softworks Global Community Lead Matt Grandstaff announced today that The Evil Within will take hold on both PS4 and PS3 platforms on August 26th, 2014.

To quote: You're going to be happy your DualShock 4 can double as a night light. That light will serve as a small comfort as you play through the latest survival horror game from the genre's most iconic game director, the legendary Shinji Mikami.

Today we're happy to announce that The Evil Within arrives on both PS4 & PS3 on Tuesday, August 26th.

Developed by the talented team at Tango Gameworks, The Evil Within embodies the meaning of pure survival horror. Highly-crafted environments, horrifying anxiety, and an intricate story are combined to create an immersive world that will bring you to the height of tension.

With limited resources at your disposal, you'll fight for survival and experience profound fear in this perfect blend of horror and action.

While investigating the scene of a gruesome mass murder, Detective Sebastian Castellanos and his partners encounter a mysterious and powerful force. After seeing the slaughter of fellow officers, Sebastian is ambushed and knocked unconscious.

When he awakens, he finds himself in a deranged world where hideous creatures wander among the dead....

The Game-Changing Additions to XCOM: Enemy Within Detailed

50°
25w ago - Sony Social Media Manager Sid Shuman detailed some of the game-changing additions to XCOM: Enemy Within below today.

To quote: XCOM: Enemy Unknown was one of 2012′s gaming triumphs; an obsessively playable sci-fi epic that injected new life into the turn-based tactics genre.

As the commander of the counter-extraterrestrial agency XCOM, you faced impossible choices on both a macro and micro level. Send aid to China and risk upsetting Africa? Send a trooper into harm's way to save a high-level comrade, or eat the loss and regroup from a stronger defensive position? XCOM is at its best when the stakes are highest.

With XCOM: Enemy Within, legendary developer Firaxis is expanding on the foundation of the original with tons of new maps, new equipment, new aliens, a mechanized soldier class, and new genemods that can transform your troopers into superhuman killing machines. We caught up with Lead Designer Ananda Gupta to get the inside scoop, and we sent him some of your questions.

BVAidan: Is this a new game or an add on? I'm new to the series and don't know much about XCOM.

Ananda Gupta: It's an expansion to last year's XCOM: Enemy Unknown, and on PS3 you'll be able to get all of XCOM: Enemy Unknown, all the DLC that was released for that game, and...

Running PSP Games on PlayStation Vita with a PS3 is Revealed

750°
112w ago - Following up on our previous article demonstrating several PS3 games running on PS Vita through Remote Play, this weekend CNET (linked above) reports on how to get many PSP games (that aren't showing up on PSN yet) to run on the PlayStation Vita handheld as well.

Below are the details, to quote: "Sony says the list of backward-compatible games will continue to grow, but why wait? There are actually plenty of other PSP games you can play on your PS Vita right now, but you'll need a PS3 to make it happen. They may not be listed on Sony's backward-compatibility list, but they certainly work.

So, here's the trick, which has been discussed on many message boards: while you can browse the PS Store to see what older downloadable PSP content is available for purchase or redownload, you're not getting the full picture of the whole PSP catalog. Instead, browse your download list via Transaction Management on your PSN account on the PlayStation 3, and download any PSP games. The PS3 will store PSP games and allow a PSP- or, a Vita- to sync the content.

Connect your PS Vita to the PS3 via USB cable...

Video: Everybody Dance Series: Creating Choreography on PS3

50°
131w ago - Today Associate Product Marketing Manager Sharon Kapitula has shared an Everybody Dance Series video dubbed Creating Choreography with the Dance Creator below.

To quote: The launch of Everybody Dance, the all-new party game for the PlayStation Move, is just a few days away!

To illustrate some of the coolest features in the game, we have created the Dancer Diaries, a series of videos where professional dancers record and share their experiences playing Everybody Dance.

Today, we want to share the first in the series, which provides a walk-through of Everybody Dance's Dance Creator mode. With Dance Creator, anyone can easily choreograph their own dances, record their routines, and then save them in-game so they can challenge friends to compete against their moves.

To show you just how awesome Dance Creator is, our very own Rey Gutierrez traveled to Miami to direct the Everybody Dance dev diary series with the expertise of Emmy-nominated dancer, actor, and choreographer Glenn Douglas Packard. Watch the video to see how Glenn and his crew of professional dancers stack up against Dance Creator.

Also, this week marked the launch of our Everybody Dance tab on the PlayStation Facebook page. Check...
