A teenager in New Jersey has broken the lock that ties Apple’s iPhone to AT&T’s wireless network, freeing the most hyped cell phone ever for use on the networks of other carriers, including overseas ones.
George Hotz, 17, confirmed Friday that he had unlocked an iPhone and was using it on T-Mobile’s network, the only major U.S. carrier apart from AT&T that is compatible with the iPhone’s cellular technology.
While the possibility of switching from AT&T to T-Mobile may not be a major development for U.S. consumers, it opens up the iPhone for use on the networks of overseas carriers.

Joystiq just got off the phone with Ken Levine, lead designer for BioShock, and was told that the PC version's issues are overblown because the game's high profile has placed it under a microscope. He fully admits they "screwed up" and notes that patches are most definitely in the works. Furthermore, there is no PS3 version of BioShock in development or planned.
As many of us know by now after installation of Bioshock for PC you are required to activate it online by connection to 2K's servers. Well on launch many users weren't able to instantly get a taste of that Bioshock goodness like that wanted. Instead they were greeted with issues while activating...

Moonlight has released the first PSP custom IPL, which is an extension of the firmware 1.5 IPL providing numerous features.
Feature for user:
- It bypasses ta-082+ brick, so you can have a ta-082+ without any key patched running 1.50 kernel based firmwares.
Feature for programmer:
- It dumps 0xbfc00000, the psp boot code prior to ipl, to the address 0x883e0000 (which is not touched by 1.50 kernel). To get the boot code in a 1.50 original firmware, just run kdumper, and extract 0x3e0000-0x3effff from the kmem.bin file -> that's the psp boot code. If you are in a cfw, you will have to execute the kdumper as a recovery or autoboot, because the 3.XX kernel overwrites the 0x883e0000 memory.
Note that this ipl is flashed to the nand, not written to the ms.

THE controversial 2012 London Olympics logo was rocked by another blow last night — after it was ruled too dangerous to view on-screen.
An animated version of the symbol used on TV and the internet had to be dropped because it could trigger fits in thousands of people.
The £400,000 logo, a graffiti-style spelling of 2012 in shades of pink, blue, green and orange, was branded “hideous” when it was launched on Monday.
And Olympics bosses were left squirming with embarrassment after an epilepsy group reported 12 cases of people collapsing through looking at it.
Epilepsy Action warned that 23,000 mainly young people in the UK were at risk from the TV and internet version. ...

For those who don't know, PS2 VAST (video below) is essentially an ELF file with an altered magicgate header so it can launch the exploit to run the executable. The manufacturer wants you to pay for the hardware containing this file, however, sceners seem to know better and apparently good things come to those who wait... so save your money and keep checking the FREEVAST site! :)
