4w ago - Lead Designer at Sucker Punch Productions Jaime Griesemer made available a video today dubbed The Powers of InFamous Second Son PS4: Smoke vs. Neon below.
To quote: Sure, when you play inFAMOUS Second Son, you're going to "enjoy your power." But which one are you going to enjoy the most?
Delsin absorbs the ability to control Smoke in his hometown, and then goes to Seattle to find more conduits and gain their powers, starting with Neon. These power sources have different strengths and weaknesses, requiring you to change up your tactics. This has led to an ongoing debate on the design team about which power is actually the best.
Darren Bridges (Power Designer): Ok, is this really a debate? Smoke is the clear winner. There's nothing better than dashing in and choke-slamming some DUP stooge, then firing a Cinder Blast that destroys the tower his buddies are standing on.
Jaime Griesemer (Lead Designer): Sure, if you want to get your hands dirty, Smoke is great. But Neon is clean and streamlined. You're basically firing lasers out of your hands, so you're a natural sniper.
With Neon, combat is all about precision from a distance. Each shot hits hard, especially if you're targeting the enemy's weak points. Neon lets you dissect a squad of Dupes like a...
20w ago - Sony Worldwide Studios Art Director Gavin Moore shared a video today showcasing Puppeteer Powers dubbed Heads Will Roll on PlayStation 3.
To quote: Puppeteer is nearly upon us. To keep you satisfied until launch on September the 10th, we put together a short video that explains some of the concepts behind the strange and fantastical world of Puppeteer.
I would ignore the weird English guy and his funny accent and concentrate on all the luscious, varied gameplay. If you like what you see - and you're looking for a unique gaming experience this fall - then don't hesitate to pre-order and pick up Puppeteer's soundtrack for free.
Kutaro can collect more than 100 heads in Puppeteer, from the Hamburger head to the Lion head. But none are more valuable than the Hero Heads, each of which bestows Kutaro with a powerful new ability that you'll keep for the rest of the adventure.
The Knight Head will enable you to deflect incoming projectiles with the Shield Power - a useful method for dealing with some of Puppeteer's massive bosses. With the Ninja Head you'll wield the powerful Bomb Power, which enables you to hurl explosives at enemies and blow up parts of the environment.
With the Moon Pirate Head, you can hurl a grappling hook that yanks enemies closer or...
30w ago - Executive Producer Larry Liberty announced today that DC Universe Online: Origin Crisis PS3 DLC is bringing quantum powers to fans.
Below are the details, to quote: I'm thrilled to finally announce that Origin Crisis, the seventh DLC for DC Universe Online - goes live today. Origin Crisis is one of our most action-packed and, easily, our most challenging DLC to date, introducing some amazing group and solo missions.
It is the culmination of many important events, and represents some vital new practices for DC Universe Online. The storyline is fantastic, and reminiscent of some of the great comic book story arcs involving alternate universes and the characters that originate within them.
Who wouldn't want to meet the Council of Batmen or Council of Lex Luthors, and alter the origin of the most iconic characters in the DC Universe? Origin Crisis picks up where our third DLC, The Battle for Earth, left off - after heroes and villains united against Brainiac, stopping his plans to remake the multiverse in his image.
After Brainiac's defeat, Future Lex Luthor's designs on the Nexus of Reality and its promise of near-infinite power were revealed. The last we saw of that story, Future Batman arrived to stop Lex. It's been fifteen months since those events, and now we get to see...
61w ago - Bethesda Softworks Global Community Lead Matt Grandstaff has announced today that Dishonored will unleash supernatural powers tomorrow on Blu-ray and PSN.
To quote: In one day, we will release Dishonored, our new first-person action game developed by the talented team at Arkane Studios. Dishonored puts you in the role of Corvo Attano, bodyguard of the Empress of Dunwall.
A pretty good gig... until you're falsely accused of killing her, kidnapping her daughter, and subsequently imprisoned and tortured by the sinister Lord Regent. Despite this, you remain the best hope for saving Dunwall, where plague is rampant and the city is on the verge of dystopia.
Early in your adventure, you will receive "The Outsider's Mark" – a mysterious tattoo on your left hand that grants you supernatural abilities. As you progress through the game, this mark will allow you to unlock new abilities, each of which can be upgraded to a second level for improved functionality.
Below is a look at two of the development team's favorite abilities:
Devouring Swarm summons a vicious swarm of rats that will consume corpses...
78w ago - Mando Productions Marketing Director Michel Bams has confirmed that fans can unleash God-like powers with PS Move in Babel Rising which hits PSN today!
To quote: Available later today on PSN, Babel Rising puts god-like powers in gamer's hands as they smite humans who are attempting to build the Tower of Babel.
Conjure up a series of divine powers - tornadoes, tsunamis, earthquakes and more - to halt the progress of the pesky humans.
When developing the game, we looked to really empower the players. Having players use these powers with a PS3 DualShock controller was great, but we wanted to really immerse the players and make them feel powerful, which led us to integrate the PlayStation Move motion controller.
The precision of PlayStation Move led to the development of our movements - a small gesture and a large gesture. We wanted to create believable movements that empowered players.
Releasing the smaller powers, which occur frequently, would require smaller gestures while the devastating ultimate powers demand much larger, powerful gestures.
In addition to the fun of feeling almighty, the PlayStation Move also offers a good balance to the player between concentration and action.
