Wild West RPG Boot Hill Heroes Available Today on PlayStation Mobile

100°
17w ago - Experimental Gamer's Dave Welch announced that Wild West RPG Boot Hill Heroes is available today on PlayStation Mobile.

To quote: Experimental Gamer is proud to announce that the Wild West-flavored RPG Boot Hill Heroes is now on PlayStation Mobile. The first game in a three part saga, Boot Hill Heroes has been in development for three years and is finally ready for the PlayStation community.

The premise of the game goes like this; after an alleged attack by the Chepakwik Native American tribe, Bronco County is on the brink of war. Only a farm boy who knows the truth can stop it.

Together with three companions - a gun slinging desperado, a Native American princess, and a Calamity Jane - he must expose a conspiracy by bringing to justice the six outlaws of the notorious Saints-Little Gang.

Imagine those classic RPGs of the 90s (Final Fantasy, Earthbound, Chrono Trigger) but reinvented as a gritty, spaghetti western with vicious outlaws, brave lawmen and the untamed wilderness. It's a journey through cow towns, Native American villages, ranches, mines, prisons, and into the soul of the American Wild West.

But what makes Boot Hill Heroes more than just being a Dragon Quest game based in the Wild West, is its fast-paced, real-time/turn-based hybrid combat....

Video: Zeno Clash II on PS3 Today, Inside the Wild World of Zenozoik

50°
53w ago - ATLUS PR Manager John Hardin shared some video footage today that delves deep inside the wild world of Zenozoik in Zeno Clash II which arrives on PS3 today!

To quote: Zeno Clash II is a first-person brawler developed by ACE Team, a development studio founded by a trio of game-developing brothers from Chile.

The world they created for Zeno Clash II is a wondrous, colorful world filled with some of the most outlandish and eye-catching creations in all of gaming.

To catch players up a bit of the game's background - in the original Zeno Clash, the protagonist Ghat, a relatively normal looking humanoid, was one of many children of Father-Mother, a 12-foot tall bird-like creature of indeterminate gender who lead a very large and diverse family.

Through circumstance, Ghat learns that Father-Mother created their unique family by abducting babies and then raising them, forcing him to fight his siblings escape alone with the dangerous secret.

In the end, Ghat gains the aid of a cryptic, omniscient being known simply as the Golem, and Father-Mother is imprisoned after a final battle that reveals the truth and causes the family to disband. All this leaves the Golem to move forward with his mysterious agenda.

Puppeteer: Behind the Scenes with the Weird, Wild PS3 Adventure

50°
96w ago - Sony Blog Manager Fred Dutton has gone behind the scenes with the upcoming weird and wild PS3 adventure game Puppeteer today!

To quote: Puppeteer's Gamescom reveal last month was a real joy to behold - a bright, bold new PlayStation IP promising primary-colored platforming fun with some deliciously dark trimmings.

A month or two on, last week PlayStation.Blog had the opportunity to actually sit down with a controller and see if it delivers on that pledge.

High up in Sony Japan Studio's towering Tokyo HQ, creator Gavin Moore walked us through the game's opening chapter, which sees a hapless young lad called Kutaro enslaved by the impossibly evil Moon Bear King and transformed into a puppet.

But steel yourselves - this isn't a cozy Pinocchio-esque tale of a plucky hero embarking on a cheerful quest to (re)gain human form. Far from it - Puppeteer's opening minutes sees poor Kutaro's head brutally torn off by our antagonist and his body nonchalantly tossed into a dank, gloomy cellar.

And that's where you, the player, come in. Guided by gloomy cloth cat Ying Yang, you'll step into Kutaro's shoes and go in search of a new noggin, of which there...

Sony Goes Hands-On with Starhawk Campaign: Wild Wild West

200°
120w ago - Sony Senior Social Media Specialist Sid Shuman goes hands-on today with the Wild Wild West Starhawk Campaign with details below!

To quote: Though legions of bloodthirsty PSN warriors have plunged into Starhawk's multiplayer beta, the single-player campaign has remained stubbornly cloaked in shadow.

Until now: At a media event in New York City this week, Lightbox Interactive finally gave a peek under that cloak, showcasing a series of frantic battles and lush cinematic sequences from the game's story-driven campaign.

As Emmett Graves, an interstellar mercenary infected by a priceless but mutagenic resource dubbed "Rift energy," you'll use the game's dramatic Build and Battle combat system to call down turrets, walls, vehicles and structures from outer space.

Your objective is to defend the frontier town of White Sands from marauding Outcast invaders – including your Rift-possessed outlaw brother Logan.

Starhawk's Western-tinged story is told through lavishly illustrated cut-scenes that weave in and out of the gameplay, seamlessly connecting the action sequences and, better still, cutting between-mission load times to the bone.

I sampled several minutes of the campaign and was pleased to discover a fast-paced yet strategic sandbox shooter that...
