Video: Hello Games on No Man's Sky - A Whole Universe to Explore

17w ago - Hello Games Managing Director Sean Murray shared details below today on No Man's Sky proclaiming it's a whole universe to explore on PlayStation 4!

To quote: Hello PlayStation.Blog! I'm Sean Murray, and I work at a little indie studio in the UK, making a game called [Register or Login to view links] on PS4.

I'm writing this on a plane back from Gamescom, where we showed some press the game behind closed doors.

We've only done three days where we've talked to press about the game so far (two at E3 and one at the VGXs last year), but for an indie game we've had lots of interest and excitement. Something I'm still struggling to get my head around.

So much so that I didn't actually want to go to Gamescom! We've never actually shown any European press the game though, and we felt bad about that.

PlayStation provided a room and I gave a hundred press a demo of the game for an hour, together with a really rambling presentation... where I apparently never looked up at the crowd once.

I can't really remember what I said, but I guess I wanted to share some stories from development, and I thought maybe you'd find them interesting, too.

We tell people...

We've also shown you how Sly's costumes will allow him to complete challenging puzzles in a variety of stages throughout time.

But what about Sly? Who is Sly? Learn more about his predicament in this new Story Trailer:

We hope you liked this look into the game! We'll have plenty more to show – including some (re)introductions to the rest of the gang - this January....

115w ago - BBC Worldwide Executive Producer Simon Harris has announced today that Doctor Who: The Eternity Clock will be hitting PlayStation Vita this Tuesday.

To quote: In response to many, many questions from PS Vita owners, I'm delighted to officially announce that the PS Vita version of Doctor Who: The Eternity Clock will be available to download from the PlayStation Store next week on October 9th in the US and October 10 in Europe!

The PS Vita version of the game will have several new features that we've been working on the past few months.

One example are the new PS Vita controls, which utilize the combination of the dual analog stick controls and PS Vita's touchscreen features, enabling players to switch between the more traditional controls and the ability to tap the screen to affect the action. All of the puzzle games within the game have been reworked to make full use of touchscreen controls as well.

We're also tapping into "near", PS Vita's geo-social service. Using "near", players can collect "Gallifreyan" medals while playing through the adventure and then drop them in a GPS location for other players to collect. Grow your collection while searching for other players' medals!

We'll also support PS Vita's Cloud Save option for players who own Doctor Who: The...

Video: Creating Monsters for Doctor Who: The Eternity Clock PS3

152w ago - BBC Worldwide Executive Producer Simon Harris has shared some video footage today on creating monsters for Doctor Who: The Eternity Clock for the PS3 entertainment system.

To quote: Welcome to the second blog on Doctor Who: The Eternity Clock. I'm Simon Harris and I am the Executive Producer for BBC Worldwide on the game, which means the project is my overall responsibility.

I need to ensure that all aspects come together to make a great game that stays true to the Doctor Who brand. This means working with our developer, Supermassive Games, across areas such as design, art and programming. It also extends to working with the Doctor Who teams in London and Cardiff to ensure that everything looks and feels as it should.

For this blog post, I thought I would give you some insight into the monsters which will be appearing in the game. This goes alongside our first gameplay trailer, released today, which showcases them.

Choosing the monsters for the game turned out to be a more of a complicated process than you would imagine. Initially, when [Register or Login to view links] put in their design pitch for the game, they had chosen the four monsters they would like to see, both as Doctor Who fans and from a gameplay point of view.
