The Flying Dutchman: Assassin's Creed IV's Second Multiplayer Event

20w ago - Ubisoft Annecy Community Developer Valentin Pasquier-Desvignes announced news today on The Flying Dutchman: Assassin's Creed IV's Second Multiplayer Event.

Below are the details, to quote: Since our first Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag multiplayer event, Under Control, we've seen the AC4 community continue to grow. So we've got a new one: The Flying Dutchman!

Starting this Friday, 11/29 and going through Sunday, 12/1, assassins across the community will compete to capture Artifacts and bring them back to their base in a special Artifact Assault mode (we've got the breakdown on the specific rules below).

During the duration of the event, you'll be provided with objectives to complete, and each of these objectives will unlock exclusive content.

In this event, Artifact Assault mode will deactivate melee kills, so your only way to kill will be to take aim with the deadly pistol. Team play is mandatory to deliver the artifact to your base, so strategize to support your carrier using Sabotage, and prevent your enemies from using their ranged Pistol attacks!

In addition to the new mode, you'll have specific objectives with their own rewards to challenge yourself with. Some are individual goals, and others are a wider community goal; check out the breakdown below:...

Video: Who's That Flying?! Hits PSN Tomorrow for PS3 and PSP

179w ago - Today Who's That Flying Writer/Producer Jim Griffiths has shared a video trailer and let us know that the PlayStation Minis title will be hitting PSN tomorrow for the PS3 and PSP consoles.

To quote: We're very, very pleased to announce that our second minis game, "Who's That Flying?!" goes live tomorrow on the PlayStation Store!

With "Who's That Flying?!", we've combined side-scrolling shooting action with elements of tower defence and even some up-close and personal quick-time events for the super-dramatic moments!

What that means is that the character you control, the "Guardian of Earth" is pretty much invulnerable, blasting enemies apart and grappling giant bosses with ease - but the cities you are defending are hugely vulnerable. So your goal is not to survive, but rather to stop too many enemies getting past you and destroying your cities.

Check out the all-new, full trailer for the game!

The story starts out with the Guardian of Earth on trial for allowing the invasion to take place; each level is played out as a flashback as you submit your version of events... in the most dramatic way possible!

The game will become available today on the PS3 and PSP worldwide for the price...

Who's That Flying?! for PSP and PS3 Minis is Coming Soon to PSN

50°
193w ago - Today Mediatonic Co-Founder & Creative Director Paul Croft has revealed that Who's That Flying?! for PSP and PS3 is coming soon to PSN.

To quote: Mediatonic is a small indie games studio based in the UK. Earlier this year we released the PlayStation minis game Monsters (Probably) Stole My Princess!.

Today, I'm super excited to reveal the first details of our brand new PlayStation minis title – Who's That Flying!? This summary from the games writer and producer Jim is a great overview on what you can expect:

You are the mysterious and powerful creature known only as the "Guardian of Earth." Your steely eye and HYPER-POWERED LASER ARM have kept the citizens of Earth safe for generations (as well as proving a hit with the ladies).

With all your awesome TALENT and FLAIR, surely it would be IMPOSSIBLE for a sudden and devastating invasion of colossal Doom Beasts to descend on your cities and cause havoc without your knowledge? (Even if you were MAYBE showboating for a magazine photo shoot at the time...)

Now, you must not only defend your cities from the ravenous hordes of Doom Beasts, you must defend yourself against accusations of gross incompetence from the Galactic Council of Justice! And this is all BEFORE...

208w ago - SCEE Home Community Lead Alex Weekes has shared a video preview today of the Iron Man Flying Game which will be hitting PlayStation Home on Thursday.

To quote: On Thursday Paramount Pictures International and AUDI AG will be launching a brand new Iron Man mini-game located in the Audi Space. As the first in-world game ever made for a film in Home, this is definitely worth your time to visit!

You will have the chance to throw on the Iron Man suit and pilot your way through a tricky skyscraper obstacle course, picking up arc reactors and dodging the mines to power your way onto the leaderboard.

If you make the leaderboard, then do your best to stay on it; the Top 10 scorers (when the game closes at the end of June 2010) will be rewarded with an Iron Man suit to keep. Do you have the raw talent - or sheer dedication - to prove that you have what it takes to wear the Iron Man suit?

To wet your appetites, check out the video below:

Don't forget you can also grab a free Iron Man 2 t-shirt by completing the quiz available within the Audi Space. There are also plenty of clips, viral videos and trailers available to watch in the cinema.

Terrafugia Announces 'Transition' Flying Car First Test Flight

550°
265w ago - Imagine seeing one of these at the pumps, eh? This morning, March 18th, 2009 at 9:30am a Press Conference was held at the Boston Museum of Science.

Terrafugia, the company behind the 2-seat transforming plane/car dubbed the Transition announced news of the first successful test flight.

It transforms in under 30 seconds, flies at over 115mph, and fits in a residential garage. A video of it in action is available HERE.

This is the first news I have seen on The Jetsons style flying cars since the Moller was announced.

For those interested, you can become a Sport Pilot in as little as 20 hours of flight time in a Transition-specific course. For existing pilots, get comfortable quickly with the familiarization training included with every Transition delivery.

The price? Anticipated purchase price: $194,000.

The only questions remaining on this transformer is: is it an Autobot or a Decepticon? :P
