Sony Unveils OMG Zombies: The Final Weekly Free PS Mobile Game

50°
78w ago - Sony Director of Emerging Platforms Chris Mahoney has announced that OMG Zombies is the final weekly free PS Mobile game available today!

Below are the details, to quote: It seems people can't get enough of the undead. [Register or Login to view links]'s OMG Zombies – the last of our six free PS Mobile games - casts you as the sole survivor of a police team that has been attacked by (you guessed it) zombies. Your mission: tear through hordes of zombies across a maze of levels, and escape the city.

Your progress in this game depends on the amount of chained combos you get from killing zombies. This game is an upgraded version of the OMG-Z game that was released by Laughing Jackal as a PS mini back in 2011.

There are weapon upgrades, branching levels, rewards, and various zombie types to encounter. This game is the easiest - and safest - way to take out zombies.

PS Vita owners will be able to download OMG Zombies for free on the PlayStation Mobile section of PlayStation Store.

Owners of PlayStation-certified devices (see full list here) can obtain it through the PlayStation Mobile Store - [Register or Login to view links] for full instructions.

We hope you enjoyed our six weeks of free PlayStation...

Mass Effect 3: N7 Weekly Challenges Come to PSN This Weekend

50°
121w ago - Today Bioware Community Manager Eduardo Vasconcellos has announced that Mass Effect 3: N7 weekly challenges are coming to PSN this weekend!

To quote: Priority transmission to alliance soldiers of the playstation network: reinforcements are coming...

From: Admiral Steven Hackett, Citadel Allied Command
Re: Operation EXORCIST
Confidentiality Classification: XA-PRIME
Distribution: N7 Forces Only

Soldiers of the Milky Way - By now it is no secret that the Reaper War has had its share of logistical SNAFUs. It is to the galaxy's credit that, when we put out the call for volunteers, we were answered by individuals of every species from Citadel, Traverse, Terminus space, and most significantly for this operation, the PlayStation Network.

Unfortunately, the diversity of equipment sources meant our allies ran into hardware and software incompatibilities.

These brave men and women have been fighting beside you and, in doing so, have gone above and beyond normal duty. Because their units were not properly tracked, they fought without pay and sometimes without proper training, equipment, even rations. It is a mark of their character that these warriors of the PlayStation Network took the grave task set before us and stuck it out through sheer determination.

50°
228w ago - Sony Associate Editor Nathan Ditum has officially introduced FirstPlay today and shared a video showcasing the new weekly interactive PSN show.

To quote: My name's Nathan Ditum, associate editor on FirstPlay, and I'm hugely excited to tell you that Episode 001 will finally launching this week, on Thursday 8th April.

If you've not heard the name before, [Register or Login to view links] is the new weekly interactive show from the team behind Official PlayStation magazine, which will be appearing on the Store every Thursday from now until our video-editing hands become gnarled claws that look not unlike a crow's skeleton.

Each episode costs 99p (or £8.99 for a 90-day subscription) and is packed full of HD reviews, previews, and screenshot galleries, with access to betas and downloadable goodies included as often as possible.

Being the reigning office FIFA champ and definitely not a massive liar, I'm happy to say that Episode 001 features an in-depth preview of EA's brilliant-looking 2010 FIFA World Cup, alongside HD reviews of God Of War III and Just Cause 2.

Sack It To Me: Weekly Answers to the LBP Community Questions

50°
299w ago - SCEA Marketing Manager Mark Valledor has initiated a weekly PS Blog update on the hot topics and answers to the questions LittleBigPlanet consumers have as follows:

First off, wanted to introduce "Sam_Protagonist" to everyone. He's our global community manager for LittleBigPlanet and our eyes and ears for all things community. You can find him interacting on the EU and US forums providing updates to the community. Keep a look out for his forum posts and occasional LBP News Site posts for the latest updates.

So for our first installment of 'SACK IT TO ME' - we've decided to summarize some of the major topics the community wants answered...

Moderation
The level moderation process is something we're continually improving. The small percentage of levels moderated have been done so after the community has reported them using the Good Grief tool. We never moderate levels that have not been reported in this way.

The vast majority of moderated levels were due to offensive material, however we are evolving the way moderation happens to ensure that creators are made aware of why their level was blocked. More to come shortly.

We hope you've noticed that over the...
