29w ago - Guerrilla Cambridge Senior Producer Mark Green detailed the pre-order bonuses today for those who grab Killzone: Mercenary a week early.
To quote: With each passing week, we edge closer to the launch of Killzone: Mercenary, the first PlayStation Vita entry in the acclaimed series.
Contrary to convention, Mercenary is also edging a bit toward us: we can today confirm a new North American release date of September 10th - a week earlier than our previous target.
Players who pre-order Killzone: Mercenary will receive "Blackjack's Briefcase," a reward for their early support that affords them an early edge in both the game's competitive online multiplayer and extensive Campaign mode. It includes:
Double XP Boost
• Get out ahead of the pack! Start the 48-hour clock with this special access code and all contracts, bonuses and payoffs earn you twice the normal XP for two straight days!
In-Game Cash Bonus
• Start the game and go straight to the armory! With this bonus payout, you'll have enough Vektan Cash to pick up a new weapon before you even step foot on the battlefield.
In addition to the above, fans in the United States who reserve a copy of Killzone: Mercenary at GameStop will receive an exclusive gun...
104w ago - DICE Junior Product Manager Tommy Rydling has announced alongside a new video trailer that Battlefield 3: Back to Karkand hits PS3 a week early today!
To quote: With the PlayStation Store update later today, you will be able to buy, download and play Battlefield 3: Back to Karkand on PS3.
To celebrate launch day, here is an all-new gameplay trailer showcasing Wake Island running on PlayStation 3 hardware. I hope you like what we have done to this classic Battlefield map, and that you enjoy your one-week PS3 exclusive head start on this expansion pack.
Once you have downloaded Back to Karkand, the four new maps (Wake Island, Strike at Karkand, Gulf of Oman, and Sharqi Peninsula) will be available in the server browser and in the Quick Match filter settings just like the nine maps from the base game.
There will be servers that mix and match maps from the base game and Back to Karkand, so you will never have to commit to playing either base game or Back to Karkand maps in your gaming session.
That's it for today; keeping it short and sweet so I can go back to chasing my new Assignments. Hope you enjoyed the launch trailer, and hope to see you online. Let us know what you think about Back...
223w ago - Japanese PlayStation 3 owners have been enjoying Ad Hoc Party for nearly a year now, but when will it hit North America... Possibly next week?
That's when fighting game Fate/Unlimited Codes releases for the PlayStation Portable, according to the official PlayStation.blog.
To quote: Fate/Unlimited Codes is one of the games that uses Ad Hoc Party for its online multiplayer in Japan, turning the PlayStation 3 into a multiplayer server for PSP games without an infrastructure mode built-in, so one might think it will do the same in America.
That game's trailer promises that PSP owners can "play online with Ad Hoc mode."
Sony Computer Entertainment recently trademarked Ad Hoc Party in the United States, a good indicator that it plans to introduce it to North American PS3 owners.
Granted, the trailer for Fate/Unlimited Codes may be out of date and we wouldn't leave it up to the publisher of that game, Capcom, to determine the launch date of a Sony product.
We were told at E3 this year that Ad Hoc Party support in the West was "in the works," but weren't given a release window.
