13w ago - Ubisoft Community Developer Nik Schmidt posted up a video today showcasing player freedom and PS4 multiplayer functionality in Watch_Dogs on PlayStation 4 below.
To quote: In the latest Watch_Dogs video below, we get a first look at some of the experiences you'll encounter when free-roaming through Chicago.
While the main storyline is packed with great missions and intriguing characters, there are plenty of unique scenarios you'll encounter while simply exploring the world. Let's have a look at some of them.
At the beginning of the video, Animation Director Colin Graham says that what we see is not a mission, but rather a part of the living city experience that's only offered in Watch_Dogs.
All the activities you see above are, as he says, totally systemic, and can happen at any time and in any place. As the player, you have total freedom to engage with them or not, and you can do so in any way you want.
But remember, your actions will be recorded throughout the campaign, and they'll have consequences. And as Colin mentions, the AI is totally unpredictable, so a single variable can trigger a foot chase, a violent altercation, a car chase, etc.
16w ago - Ubisoft Community Developer Nik Schmidt shared a brand new Watch_Dogs PS4 / PlayStation 4 trailer video today at Gamescom 2013 below!
To quote: Hey guys! Couldn't make it to Gamescom? No worries, we've got you covered. Here's the trailer that was recently shown at Sony's conference. It introduces a rather intriguing group.
We already knew that even though Aiden was kind of a lone wolf, he wasn't always acting alone. He had some help. But in this latest piece, we're realizing that he might be facing more resistance than he had initially planned.
DedSec, an unorthodox group of "hacktivists" very active in Watch_Dogs' Chicago, doesn't seem to approve of Aiden's actions - even though in a way he's helping them uncover the many flaws of ctOS.
Therefore, they seem committed to exposing him and denouncing his actions to the population. And much like Aiden, DedSec appears to have plenty of resources, making him even more vulnerable.
So what's Aiden's real connection with them? Are they friend or foe? On top of dealing with his own problems and the occasional police chase, will he have to watch his back for DedSec members? I, for one, have trouble believing him when he says he's not in any trouble.
17w ago - Ubisoft Community Developer Kim Belair posted up a fresh Rules the City PS4 trailer video today on the upcoming PS3 and PlayStation 4 title Watch_Dogs with details below.
To quote: Last time, I was pumped to share the Honored Trailer for Watch_Dogs, and now I'm here with some new gameplay footage that'll give you the rundown on how to operate in the world of the game.
As you may know, Watch_Dogs' interpretation of Chicago is a web of technological connections, all overseen and managed by ctOS, a piece of centralized software designed to watch over the city and keep it running smoothly.
ctOS controls everything from emergency response to the network of indoor and outdoor security cameras dotting the urban landscape. In the hands of a skilled hacker and strategist like Aiden Pearce, ctOS means nearly unlimited power. And in your hands, it means incredibly fun and engaging open-world gameplay.
So check out the Watch_Dogs Hacking featurette.
Whether you're looking for a tactical advantage in stealth and strategy or just a bit of gossip mongering through strangers' private texts and scandalous emails, hacking into ctOS gives you total access, and it's an amazing feeling to play...

25w ago - Ubisoft Community Developer Nik Schmidt posted up a fresh Watch_Dogs PlayStation 4 walkthrough demo video from E3 2013 today for PS4 fans below!
To quote: In this most recent Watch_Dogs gameplay demo, we witnessed the wide variety of tools that Aiden has in his arsenal, all expressed through gameplay.
Whether it be by driving in a stealthily way to try and evade assailants, by assisting a friend in escaping a sticky situation, or by blacking out parts of the city to give him tactical advantage, we were able to see all the agency we'll have while exploring the great city of Chicago.
Now, we've seen how Aiden lends a helping hand to a friend, but who's helping him? Who's helping you, the player, when the odds seemed to have been tipped against you? That's where it becomes interesting.
There's yet another layer of connectivity that will be available to you in Watch_Dogs: Co-op on mobile devices. When you're calling for help, you are sending a request to friends who are connected to the Watch_Dogs universe through their mobile devices.
When that request is accepted, a co-op experience starts and the goal for the two players is to survive from the police by escaping their pursuit. This is just another way Watch_Dogs brings you the full, hyper-connected experience.
