Empire: Total War, is the new installment in The Creative Assembly’s Total War RTS franchise and will maintain the series 3D battles, grand turn based campaign map and rich historical flavor; while for the first time introducing 3D naval combat into the series.
Below is an interview with one of the game's developers:
WP: Who has the honor to speak with us? State your name, rank, and occupation!
Kieran Brigden, studio communications manager for Creative Assembly.
WP: Empire Total War marks the first time that the Total War series has had really intricate naval battles. Why have them now?
KB: Well, it's a combination of factors. One, we've wanted to do it for a while but the technology was ready now. Two, it's the period that's right for it. When you add naval battles to the game, you have to do it when it's interesting, enjoyable, and fun. The 18th century was the absolute height of cool naval warfare. You had thi... More »
Are Sony and Blockbuster looking to form an alliance to bring Blockbuster's streaming video offer to the PlayStation 3? We'll know by 'early next year' says Blockbuster Video.
Sony and Blockbuster have some history together already. You may recall that Blockbuster was one of the first retailers in North America that they were going to be supporting Blu-ray on a much bigger scale than HD DVD. That announcement really got the ball rolling in Blu-ray's favor at the time.
Fast forward a year and we have Netflix signing streaming deals with every manufacturer they can find including an exclusive game console deal with Microsoft. Netflix has signed deals with TiVo Inc, Samsung, LG Electronics.
Now comes word from Blockbuster that, in the wake of their launch of Blockbuster OnDemand, they are actively seeking a partnership with Blu-ray player manufacturers. With Samsung and LG already in Netflix's corner, could this lead Blockbuster to seek out Sony as a... More »
A glitch in the Nintendo Wii version of Tomb Raider: Underworld near enough prevents players from actually completing the game.
The glitch can be found near the end of the Coastal Thailand level. Luckily, Eidos is aware of this and has some solutions to the game completion preventing glitch as detailed on EidosGames.com.
Below is a video of it courtesy of campstuff92 via YouTube. The video's caption reads:
This is how you do the final room in the Thailand level of Tomb Raider Underworld for Wii.
I posted this video because a lot of people seem to have a glitch where the lever that opens the underwater door is not there, and a guide to where the lever would be.
Capcom's John Diamonon shared the following today via PS Blog:
Joe Esposito once eloquently proclaimed that “History repeats itself” and it’s an honor for me to announce that Street Fighter returns today on the PlayStation Network. On a personal note, it’s been a dream of mine to work on this franchise. I remember going to the local 7-11 and spending hours trying to pull off an invisible throw or handcuff glitch.
I remember sharing theories with my friends that it was possible to throw that rock in the Chun-Li stage, pull out Guile’s gun, control Ryu’s red fireballs or defeat the mysterious Sheng Long. Street Fighter was a cultural phenomenon not seen since the days of Pac Man. Here we are, almost 20 years later, and this franchise is as relevant as ever.
Here’s the final HD Remix video for your viewing pleasure.
Enough of my reminiscing. I’m here to talk about the next... More »

Samsung showed off an impressive Flexible OLED mobile phone at this year's FPD International show.
The phone opens up to reveal a large OLED screen that folds in the middle (remnicent of a Nintendo DS when open).
Hopefully we'll see a portable gaming console with one of these screens someday soon!

MotorStorm: Pacific Rift's Game Director Nigel Kershaw issued a challenge today for fans as follows:
So MotorStorm: Pacific Rift has been out a couple of weeks, and we’re all back from our vacations, rested, refreshed and ready to give you a run for your money on the online leaderboards in Time Attack.
If you’re not familiar with Time Attack in the MotorStorm: Pacific Rift, it’s a game mode where you attempt to get the best lap time possible using one of the vehicle classes on one of the 16 racetracks in the game.
It’s different than regular MotorStorm racing, as it’s just you on the track with no opponents to worry about, and it’s all about getting around the track in one piece. If you crash or manually reset the track during the course of a lap, then that time will not be uploaded to the online leaderboards.
There is a different board for each of the eight vehicle classes on each of the tracks, as well as an over... More »
One day, many years ago, a programmer playing Halo: Combat Evolved became frustrated by his lack of skill.
He died over and over again, so rather than practice until he could hold his own, he - as many programmers do - asked himself how could automate the experience. And thus, the infamous AimBot was born.
AimBots have been a thorn in the sides of many noble gamers for almost a decade. Talentless players have used them to bring misery upon their innocent foes; foes primarily out to have a good time themselves.
Unfortunately for the honest among us, AimBots are the least of our worries now. A plague of modded controllers have now entered circulation among gamers. These controllers are used to center on a target’s head, pull the trigger, and move on.
Others are used to make the buttons easier and faster to push, or are modified with a rapid-fire button (like an old SNES controlle... More »
Back in September, The Punisher: No Mercy was announced for PSN. Yes, this first person shooter will exclusively hit the PlayStation Network as a downloadable title.
Not too much is known about the game, but GameTrailers has debuted the first ever PlayStation 3 footage of the game in action.
Video is below, and the caption simply reads:
"War doesn't get distracted, and neither does The Punisher."
