Fat Princess: Her Majesty Awaits the PlayStation 3 Console

200°
266w ago - Today SCEA Managing Producer Deborah Mars of Santa Monica Studio has announced an update on Fat Princess for the PlayStation 3 console, including some new screenshots below as follows:

We know many of you are anxiously awaiting the sweet PlayStation Network arrival of none other than Her Royal Highness: Fat Princess.

You have been very patient, and we really do appreciate all your support. Since E3 back in early June, we and the fantastic development team at Titan Studios have been working very hard to get the fine lady and her beloved subjects all ready for their much-anticipated debut.

So here's the deal: We have tons of info to share with you, but we want to take this opportunity to let you all ask the questions. So, go ahead... ask us. Let us know what you want to know.

Post questions below in response to this blog entry, and then we'll gather a bunch of them to put forth to Titan Studios. They will answer these questions directly during a PlayStation Eye video chat interview with our good pal, Jeff R, next week.

Enjoy some of the new screenshots, and we'll be seeing you on the battlefield soon!

Cross Edge Slashes to PS3 Consoles Today: PS3 Trophies Await!

50°
273w ago - Today Nao Zook, the PR/Marketing Coordinator of NIS America, Inc has announced that Cross Edge hit the PS3 console.

To quote: As of today (May 26th), Cross Edge has officially been released!

Cross Edge is a dream-come-true RPG for hardcore gamers. It is the first RPG on PLAYSTATION 3 that has 5 different companies collaborating for one incredible adventure!

You'll see some familiar faces from Darkstalkers (Capcom); Disgaea (Nippon Ichi Software); Ar tonelico (Bandai Namco); Atelier Marie and Mana Khemia 2 (Gust); and Spectral Souls (Idea Factory). And all the characters are playable. Isn't that cool?

You can also collect costumes for all the different characters, and their stats and abilities will change depending on which costume they are wearing.

And when you change costumes on female characters, their appearance will also change! It's really cute! If you are into these characters, Cross Edge is a must-have!

I would also like to talk a bit about the battle system. Cross Edge has a unique hybrid battle system that combines a classic RPG setup with an intuitive grid-based SRPG style.

In battle, a square grid will appear beneath the units, and players can move their characters...

PS3 Owners: Don't Buy Fallout 3 DLC, Wait for GOTY Edition

250°
274w ago - As you may or may not have heard, all of the Xbox 360 exclusive downloadable content for Fallout 3 will be coming to the PS3 this summer, thereby making the Xbox 360 exclusive DLC not Xbox 360 exclusive at all.

Timed exclusive? Whatever, that doesn't mean anything to me.

In addition, however, two new chunks of DLC are coming to both platforms, though the 360 gets it first... again. So you might think to yourselves, dear PS3 owners, that you've waited long enough and want to buy that DLC right away. But not so fast!

The DLC is only going to start trickling out this summer, the two new pieces actually hitting in the fall. As it turns out, a Game of the Year edition is also coming out in the fall, October to be more specific, and it's going to have all five DLCs in one package. If you've managed to hold out this long, you might as well just wait and get the GOTY edition.

As an expert calculator user, I can tell you that five pieces of DLC at $10 apiece is $50, and that's on top of buying the game in the first place. Trade that game in, however, (or sell it) and you'll likely make up the $10 difference. This gets you all of the DLC without taking up precious hard drive space, and it doesn't cost you anything more than if you downloaded it all separately.

Capcom to Give Fans What They've Been Waiting for at E3 2009

200°
274w ago - Previously it was rumored that the second secret title which Capcom will unveil at E3 2009 would be none other than Devil May Cry 5.

Since then, Capcom was contacted asking for their word on this rumor, and have replied as follows:

Capcom immediately replied saying, "It's a title fans have been waiting for, everyone will have to wait until E3 to find out what the secret title exactly is, but we can tell it is definitely not Devil May Cry 5."

There you have it, it's not Devil May Cry 5 but Capcom stating that 'It's what fans have been waiting for' certainly excites us and after giving it some thought we came up with 1 title that hasn't been announced yet and has a lot of fans waiting Onimusha 5.

Square Enix Sales Down 74 Percent, Wait for Dissidia on PSP!

100°
298w ago - In a recent study, it was unveiled that this year Square Enix's sales were down by 74%. This was partly because the bulk of Crisis Core's Japanese sales came in 2007, but it still performed well when it was released in other regions earlier this year.

The main reason for Square Enix's lacklustre sales this year is the absence of any other strong titles, which is where Dissidia: Final Fantasy comes in.

Since it was initially announced, Dissidia has intrigued nearly all fans of Final Fantasy. This is because Dissidia is a celebration of 20 years of Final Fantasy and it will include characters from all twelve of the games which make up the main series. So, even if you only liked one game in the franchise, it will still be featured.

The other reason is because it's not an RPG, but a fighting game. Ehrgeiz was released some years ago and only featured characters from Final Fantasy VII, but now players will get the chance to see who really is the best protagonist in Final Fantasy history.

Many critics initially had doubts about Dissidia's credentials, as there was no evidence to suggest that Square Enix could actually make a game in this genre work. However, once they...
