To quote: Hello fellow movie lovers, a quick note from VUDU. We're excited to announce that as of today we're ready to take you to a whole new dimension.

If you've got a 3D-enabled TV hooked up to your PS3, now you can stream in 3D directly from VUDU. So grab your 3D glasses and hang on!

If you've already downloaded the VUDU app, it will be updated automatically with the new functionality - you don't need to do a thing.

130w ago - Sony Network Operations Americas VP Eric Lempel has announced that as of today you can officially stream HD movies instantly with the VUDU PS3 application and shared a video walkthrough below!

To quote: Last week, we announced a partnership with VUDU that will bring you the ability to stream thousands of movies straight from the cloud to your PlayStation 3.

Today, that announcement becomes reality as the VUDU application launches in the United States on PlayStation Network. VUDU delivers a cinema-quality movie experience in the comfort of your home theater, complete with full 1080p HD with 5.1 Dolby Digital Plus sound, and video on-demand without downloading.

No subscription is necessary to browse their library of more than 4,000 HD movies, including many new releases the same day they are released to DVD and Blu-ray.

The movies are available on-demand and you only pay for the movies that you watch. Also, when you sign up for a VUDU account, you will receive a $5.99 credit on your account for one free HD rental.

131w ago - Today PlayStation Network Sr. Director Susan Panico has officially announced that VUDU is coming to the PS3, adding another choice for PSN members to experience media instantly!

Additionally, Engadget.com reports that "ratings, recommendations, and most interestingly, support for PS3's Move controller" will be rolled out in version 2.0 of the movie service's UI during mid-December.

To quote: It's been an exciting and busy couple of weeks on the PlayStation Network. Last week we shared the news that NHL will begin streaming live games to the PlayStation 3 and that Hulu Plus is now available to all PlayStation Network members and we're not slowing down!

I'm happy to report that beginning next week, VUDU, the HD movie streaming service, will be available to all PS3 users in the United States that are registered to PSN, making it the only gaming console to offer VUDU.
