Video: Sony PS4 User's Guide Now Online, How to Capture Gameplay

54w ago - Sony has published the official PS4 User's Guide online today (available [Register or Login to view links]) alongside a video below on how to capture PlayStation 4 gameplay from MrVg247 via YouTube.

It also appears that the PS4 don't support 3D Blu-ray format among others, as follows:

Supported disc formats

  • Blu-ray Disc
  • BD-ROM*1
  • BD-R/RE (BDAV, BDMV)
  • DVD
  • DVD-ROM
  • DVD-R/RW*2 (video mode, VR mode*3)
  • DVD+R/RW*2

*1Hybrid discs are supported.
*2AVCHD is supported.
*3CPRM is supported.

Playback of the following types of discs is not supported:

  • CD
  • BD-RE ver.1.0
  • BD-R/RE XL
  • Blu-ray 3D
  • DVDs that have not been finalized.

Video: Uncharted 3 PS3 Behind The Scenes: Motion Capture

161w ago - SCEE Manager James Gallagher has made available a video today showcasing the motion capture technology utilized in Uncharted 3 PS3 behind the scenes.

To quote: I don't need to remind you that the release of Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception is less than a week away and you may have seen that the reviews are rolling in, including perfect scores from IGN, PlayStation Official Magazine UK, Destructoid, The Guardian and more.

These critics have all highlighted narrative and, in particular, the actors' performances as particular strengths.

It's unusual, when you think about it, to be talking about performances in the context of a game, but it's that marriage of technology and human acting, along with a great script and a skilled team of animators, that brings Drake, Sully and co. to life in such a believable way.

Video: Insomniac's Resistance 3 PS3 Motion Capture Documentary

172w ago - Today Insomniac Games Senior Community Manager James Stevenson has made available a Resistance 3 PS3 motion capture documentary video for fans below.

To quote: During our Comic-Con Resistance 3 panel, we discussed our motion-capture techniques and how they helped us build the game's story.

We showed an in-progress behind-the-scenes video that chronicled our mocap process in Resistance 3, and how we have continued to evolve that process from the work we did on Resistance 2.

That video is now complete, and we're excited to share with you how we really brought the cinematics and characters of Resistance 3 to life. Give it a watch below.
