179w ago - Today Square Enix announced that their classic RPG adventure, Vagrant Story, is set to hit Sony's PlayStation Store across European and PAL territories just in time for the holidays on December 22, 2009.

Priced at €5.99, Vagrant Story originally gained critical acclaim on its launch receiving a full 40/40 from Japanese gaming magazine Famitsu.

Long famed for its dark narrative, unique battle system and atmospheric 3D world it has since been regarded as a true RPG classic.

To quote Square Enix's description for the title: "As the VKP's (Valendia Knights of the Peace) elite Riskbreaker, Ashley Riot, you must pursue a group of cultists into a deserted city of Lea Monde in an attempt to rescue the kidnapped son of a Valendian dignitary. But all is not as it seems, and everything you once believed will soon be called into question as you contend not only with the cultists, but rival political factions, the city's restless fallen, and your own dark memories."

Larry Sparks, Vice President of Brands for the PAL Region of Square Enix Ltd. comments, "Vagrant Story is one of only a handful of games to be honoured with Famitsu's highest possible score and it's a great pleasure to be releasing the game in Europe.

184w ago - Many fans were upset that Vagrant Story didn't appear on the European PlayStation Store as promised when the digital shop was updated with new content yesterday.

Fortunately, Mike Kebby of SCEE's PlayStation Store Team, is assuring fans that the PSOne Classic is still coming to the European Playstation Network in the relatively near future.

Here is what he had to say in the comment section of PlayStation.Blog.Europe:

"It's coming soon, the release date information was retracted because they (Square Enix) announced wrong dates...but it's on the way."

Vagrant Story was released for the PlayStation in 2000 and is considered by many as one of the best games on the popular system.
