Lab Zero Games: Skullgirls Encore Coming to PS4 & PS Vita in 2014

50°
2d ago - Lab Zero Games CEO Peter Bartholow announced that Skullgirls Encore is coming to PS4 and PS Vita in 2014 with details below.

To quote: Very little has been constant during Skullgirls' two year existence - after all, the game has changed distributors and even developers. But one thing has stayed with us all this time: people asking us to bring the game to PS Vita and, more recently, PS4.

We read your comments, we took them to heart, and we're finally making it happen: Skullgirls Encore will be coming to PS4 and PS Vita later this year!

The PS4 and PS Vita versions of Skullgirls Encore will be complete, including all of the DLC characters, stages, and story funded by Lab Zero's Indiegogo campaign, as well as "All Play" multiplayer lobbies and an extensive art gallery.

Skullgirls Encore for PS Vita will also be playable on PlayStation TV, and support up to two local players using DualShock 3 or 4 controllers.

We'll have more info on features and pricing as these exciting new versions get closer to launch.

We're headed off to Evo 2014 and will be holding a side-tournament with a $5000 starting pot from Lab Zero and Autumn, and PS4 systems graciously provided by Sony for the 1st and 2nd place winners.

So if you're going to Evo, be sure to...

Cellar Door Games: Rogue Legacy Hits PS4, PS3, PS Vita on July 29th

50°
4d ago - Cellar Door Games Designer Teddy Lee announced today that Rogue Legacy is coming to PS4, PS3 and PS Vita platforms on July 29th, 2014.

To quote: What's up guys! We're crazy proud to announce that the official release date for Rogue Legacy on ALL PlayStation platforms will be July 29th, 2014! That's only 3 weeks away!

That's complete insanity, and we're totes mcgoats excited to finally bring it to consoles and handhelds.

Now, before I go into a list of the awesomeness that is the Playstation versions of Rogue Legacy, I just want to give a shout out to the guys at Abstraction Games.

They did almost all of the work on bringing the game to PlayStation, and this would never have happened without them. So big ups to them for all their help!

For those that don't know, I should probably explain to you guys what Rogue Legacy is. It's a rogue-lite game where you must conquer a magical castle which is constantly changing. Every time you die, your children succeed you.

Each child has his or her own unique genetic traits, so one child might be a near sighted wizard, and another could be a flatulent ninja. So every play through is unique, right from the get-go.

As an added bonus, all the money you earn is passed down to your children, giving each...

Video: No Man's Sky on PS4: The Ambitions of Hello Games

50°
2w ago - Sony Blog Manager Fred Dutton revealed the ambitions of Hello Games in No Man's Sky on PS4 today complete with a PlayStation 4 video trailer below.

To quote: One of the undisputed highlights of our E3 2014 media briefing was the moment when Hello Games' visibly nervous Sean Murray clambered on stage to show off No Man's Sky, his team's remarkable open-universe, science fiction epic which will debut on PS4.

As you'll hopefully have ascertained in the press coverage since (and in Sean's blog post), there's extraordinary ambition on display here, especially given the size of the Hello team, and it was no surprise that it was arguably the buzz game of the show.

48 hours after his moment under the E3 spotlight, we were lucky enough to sit down with Sean and learn the story behind Hello's journey from humble beginnings in Guildford, UK to the biggest stage in gaming, surviving natural disasters in the process.

Not only that but he also laid bare his mind-boggling vision for what No Man's Sky will be. Trust me, this one is well worth a watch...

Bamtang Games: Kilka Card Gods on PS Vita: The Peruvian Influence

50°
2w ago - Bamtang Games Creative Director Adam Johnston detailed the Peruvian influence in Kilka Card Gods on PS Vita below today.

To quote: Have you had a chance to play Kilka Card Gods yet? The latest game from our studio, Bamtang Games, was released on June 10th for PS Vita - the first ever self-published launch by a Latin American game development studio on the PlayStation platform.

Needless to say, we're all excited here! Kilka Card Gods is the result of several years of development efforts, and we're extremely happy that one of our games is paving the way for more games developed in Peru and Latin America to be released for PlayStation.

We're especially proud about Kilka Card Gods because the game has been an opportunity for us to portray many elements from Peruvian culture. There are few games that have included Peru as part of their narrative, and in most cases, developers haven't paid much attention to the way Peru and its culture were presented in their games.

With Kilka, we set out to change that and show that things could be done differently - that the richness of Peruvian culture could be accurately and elegantly captured in a way that borrows from tradition while at the same time crafting new stories and characters that players could fall in love with.
