222w ago - Epic Games Unreal Tournament 3 Lead Designer Steve Polge revealed that the long-awaited Unreal Tournament 3 Titan PS3 Pack finally arrives tomorrow, for free!

To quote: "Greedings," everyone. As you may have heard, the new Titan Pack expansion for Unreal Tournament 3 will be available on the PlayStation Store starting tomorrow, and it's completely free.

The Titan Pack's downloadable content includes the gametypes Greed and Betrayal, the namesake Titan mutator, 19 maps, the Link Station and X-Ray Field deployables, the Stinger Turret and Eradicator Cannon weapons, the Stealthbender vehicle, the Slow Field power-up, and characters Kana and Nova.

Speaking of Greed, our guys are having a blast with this addictive new gametype. Greed is a fast-paced, "tug of war" style mode in which you swipe the skulls of fallen players and unload them at the enemy base to score points. Silver skulls are worth a point, gold skulls represent five points, and red skulls are 20 points.

223w ago - The 2.00 patch for Unreal Tournament 3 is now live on the PlayStation Network. This is the patch that is supposed to include a lot of new stuff, including trophies, split-screen, and the in-game mod browser, amongst other goodies.

The patch was supposed to be delayed until March 19th, but it is up right now.

To quote: The v2.00 patch for Unreal Tournament is live. This is a 93MB patch, which includes trophies!

The previously-reported list of changes, some of which may not be included in this update (ie: Titan mutator, new maps, should be coming as separate DLC):

• 16 environments - four Warfare, three vCTF, six Deathmatch, and three CTF maps - that are new to the PC and PS3 versions
• Three bonus pack maps, CTF-Face, CTF-Searchlight and DM-Morbias

224w ago - Bad news from the Unreal Tournament III front. Epic Games has announced that the Titan DLC and patch for the game's PS3 version won't be going live tomorrow as planned.

Here's the announcement post from Epic's Steve Polge on the Epic Games forums (linked above):

Unfortunately, due to circumstances out of our control, the certification process for the PS3 patch and DLC has taken much longer than we expected. As a result, we have been forced to push back the release date for the PS3 version to 3/19.

The Titan DLC (which is supposed to be free, by the way) will add 16 new environments and three bonus pack maps to UT3 along with a host of other features like PS3 Trophy support and split-screen support. It also includes a Titan mutator that lets players turn into 15-foot Titans and 30-foot Behemoths.

226w ago - Today, Epic has made available the first screenshots and details of what's to come in the much-anticipated free bonus pack, which will be coming to PS3 (and PC) on March 5th, 2009.

Press Release: Unreal Tournament 3: Titan Pack is a major expansion to the award-winning Unreal Tournament 3.
