70w ago - Under Siege Producer Filipe Pina has announced this weekend that the Under Siege Enhanced Edition free PSN update is now available!
To quote: Under Siege, our real time strategy game for PSN, is getting a massive update today. We listened to our friends, fans, and critics and took all their opinions very seriously.
So we went back and decided to improve Under Siege in every way possible. Today's free 1.02 update adds the following features:
• Upgrade to 4 players online and local
• Antialiasing in both 720p and 1080p
• Players can now continue the campaign from any level they have already finished, instead of only the last
• The first few levels of the game were rebalanced to make the game more accessible to new players and the casual difficulty was completely redone
• Cooperative maps are unlocked from the start
• General performance improvements and shorter load times
• News feed from the team directly on the Main Menu
There's more; the full update list can be checked on our forums here.
Additionally, the multiplayer network code had a huge revision and along with it we bring you 4 new multiplayer maps:
102w ago - This weekend Under Siege Producer Filipe Pina has announced that the new PS3 strategy game Under Siege is now available on PSN.
To quote: Our little big game is now on sale on the PlayStation Store! Under Siege is an action and strategy game in real time, where a small group of heroes fight against a huge invading army.
We developed Under Siege to be played with the DualShock 3 controller and it also supports the PlayStation Move motion controller. We also boost lots of cool features like video recording, custom music, and video chat. The game even runs in full 1080p in Dolby Digital 5.1.
Under Siege is now available for $19.99 ($10.00 for PlayStation Plus users) and suppers six languages: English, French, German, Italian, Spanish and Portuguese. It includes a full campaign, two-player multiplayer online and local play, and the same Editor used by us to create the game itself.
The Editor is one of the most important features we put in Under Siege. We started production on it before making the game so we that made sure our level designers created everything directly on a PS3 with a DualShock 3. This way, it was possible to keep on upgrading and improving the features and usability while the game was being made.
109w ago - Today Producer Filipe Pina has announced that RTS Under Siege hits PSN on May 3rd, and it includes both a Game Editor and PlayStation Move support!
To quote: After three years of production, Under Siege is finally ready to hit the PlayStation 3! In North America, it will be available on May 3rd on the PlayStation Store for $19.99.
Under Siege is a real-time action and strategy game where a small group of heroes fight against a huge invading army. The game is set in a medieval fantasy world and follows the story of Eirik, Kari and Asgeir. Designed to be played with the DualShock 3 controller or the PlayStation Move motion controller.
The built-in game editor is one of Under Siege's most interesting features, enabling players to create their own maps and game modes. The same exact tool that was used by the team to create all of the levels is available to everyone from the start, and there's no need to play through the campaign to unlock anything.
Other cool features include 1080p visuals, Dolby Digital 5.1 audio, support for two players in online and splitscreen play, audio and video chat for online games, video recording with screenshot capture, custom soundtrack support and more.
110w ago - Today Sony's Senior Social Media Specialist Sid Shuman has shared a video spotlighting Dungeon Siege III, which features accessible controls and bountiful co-op action on the PlayStation 3.
To quote: If you're like me, the last time you played a traditional action-RPG on a console was probably Diablo for the PSone or Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance for the PS2.
Over the years, the action-RPG gameplay foundation -- compulsive loot-hoarding and XP-grinding with liberal character progression and heavy replayability -- has slowly but steadily infiltrated other genres, from shooters such as Borderlands and BioShock to pure RPGs such as Fallout 3 and The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion.
Dungeon Siege III brings the trend full circle, presenting a modern take on the classic overhead-view action-RPG.
It is our first PS3 game and we are very happy with what we have achieved so far.
So up to this point besides working on the game we have also worked to get in touch with our fans. For that we have launched an official Web site and forum, started a Facebook page and posted here on the PlayStation.Blog. Feedback has been great and we cannot wait for the day when the game is on sale.
But getting an RTS feature-packed game on PSN was not our only goal, we also wanted the bring out the big guns and give our fans something extra. So I am proud to present the Under Siege intro.
It was made by the nice folks at Axis Animation (who you may remember as the creator of the Killzone 2 intro) and it gives you an introduction to the world of Under Siege....
