120w ago - Naughty Dog Community Strategist Arne Meyer has shared a video today unboxing Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception Collector's Edition for the PS3 entertainment system.
To quote: Well, we've managed to steal, er, borrow, a production sample of the UNCHARTED 3: Drake's Deception Collector's Edition.
We had a little help from our friend Nolan North, otherwise known as Nathan Drake in the UNCHARTED games.
Nolan stopped by the Naughty Dog studio with our ill-gotten sample of the Collector's Edition and we couldn't resist to shoot an unboxing video to give our fans a good look at what actually comes inside the awesome looking traveling case.
We're really excited to be able to check out, in person, our first ever Collector's Edition version of a Naughty Dog developed game. Watch the video below to see Nolan give you a firsthand account.
This UNCHARTED 3: Drake's Deception Collector's Edition will be released in North America on November 1 for $99.99.
The entire Collector's Edition will come housed in a very cool looking reproduction of a traveling chest - it's got exclusive exterior artwork, comes with a lid that is held shut by a magnet and contains storage areas for all of the goodies that come with the Collector's...
131w ago - Naughty Dog Community Strategist Arne Meyer has unveiled a new Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception PS3 E3 2011 preview video tonight!
To quote: All of Naughty Dog has been looking forward to tonight ever since we announced Uncharted 3 with Entertainment Weekly and showed it for the first time at the SPIKE VGA show back in December.
And just a few minutes ago, if you were watching the SCEA Press Conference on any of the live streams, you go to see what we've been working so hard to be able to show you!
At the SCEA Press Conference, our Co-Presidents, Evan and Christophe, took the stage and with just a short intro, launched into the first live demo of Uncharted 3 ever shown publicly.
The brief Cruise Ship sequence shows just a small slice of one of the most challenging scenarios we've concocted for any of the Uncharted games - as a massive, moving environment of the Cruise Ship gets turned on its side mid-battle, Drake has to scramble for his life. This sequence showcases the next level of our physics and water technology - and you'll see video of this sequence later this week.
148w ago - SCEE Blog Manager James Gallagher has shared some fresh Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception PS3 gameplay alongside an interview today.
To quote: In case you haven't seen my video interviews with Insomniac Games and thatgamecompany, I was at the PlayStation Experience press event in London last week, talking about the most anticipated PlayStation games of 2011.
Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception will be right at the top of that list for many fans and I got the chance to sit with Arne Meyer, Community Strategist at Naughty Dog.
After half an hour of idle chatter about ice hockey and London's historic markets, we got on to the game and discussed what Naughty Dog is doing to ensure Drake's third adventure is the most immersive yet.
To kick things off, which Uncharted 3 level are you showing here today?
We're showing an extended version of a stage called The Chateau - you may have seen footage of it in the Internet, but what we have here today shows off some of the technical things we've been working on, new character interactions and a few gameplay mechanics that people haven't seen before.
154w ago - Naughty Dog Community Strategist Arne Meyer has shared a new video today which includes an Uncharted 3 Drake's Deception PS3 Interview and details alongside some fresh gameplay videos below.
To quote: We're not closing out 2010 quietly! I'm sure it's been hard to miss that another wave of information, interviews, screenshots and gameplay video for UNCHARTED 3: Drake's Deception hit the internets today.
You're just seeing the fruits of the nefarious plan we've had in the works for a couple of months now. Okay, that's not quite true, but it sure sounds way better if it's all dramatic, right?
A good part this wave comes from the event we held for the media just after the Spike VGA 2010 - you read about that here on the PlayStation.Blog a couple of weeks ago when the first batch of info on UNCHARTED 3 gameplay was released.
PlayStation Blog was there not only to check out UNCHARTED 3 with their very own eyes, but they got managed to snag Creative Director Amy Hennig and Game Director Justin Richmond to answer some questions in the video above.
155w ago - Sony's Social Media Manager Jeff Rubenstein has shared an Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception PS3 gameplay reveal today.
To quote: Today, even more came out about UNCHARTED 3, as Naughty Dog and SCEA hosted media in Hollywood for a more in-depth look at the game.
Worry not, those of you who feared the entirety of Drake's Deception would take place in the swirling sands of the Rub' al-Khali Desert.
The scene we witnessed (demoed in real time) took place in a dilapidated French chateau. Nathan Drake and Sully are following the trail of T.E. Lawrence (you've likely heard of "Lawrence of Arabia") to find a clue that'll take them to the lost Arabian referred to as "The Atlantis of the Sands."
Before reading on, take a look at this excerpt, which shows about a quarter of what was demoed.
Early on, we see some of the details that Game Director Justin Richmond tells us to keep an eye out for: Drake jumping onto, and then off of a swaying chandelier, climbing not only up, but backwards if he reaches a ledge, and new contextual animations that show Drake interacting more with his surroundings (e.g. placing your hand along a wall for balance as you approach it).
