Some documents from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) are suggesting that the new PSP Go may be packing more power under its sliding exterior than what Sony has officially revealed.
Contrary to official statements from Sony that peg the PSP Go's top clock frequency at 333 MHz, the FCC's test reports indicate that the PSP Go actually maxes out at 480 MHz.
SCEA President Jack Tretton joked as he took the stage, "Thank god you guys showed up."
His self-deprecating, nervous laughter was directed at all of the company's leaks - even Sony boss Kaz Hirai admitted the PSP Go! was "the worst-kept secret of E3.
But Sony's audience was there to applaud every stat: 364 games are coming to PlayStation 3 in the next year; the platform...
If you're already a PSP owner, you probably own a collection of PSP UMDs. But let's say you want to upgrade to the PSP Go, what do you do with all your UMDs then?
Sony said they are looking into the dilemma, and are exploring opportunities.

TiltedScreen (linked above) reports that more publishers plan on allowing PSP UMD games to partially install on the memory sick, much in the same way that PS3 games install.
Apparently this new feature is already available with two games, to quote:

Nintendo, Sony: Let's talk for a sec- just you and me. Look, guys, over the past couple of years, you've had a great run.
Nintendo, your DS has tons of games, a wide variety of unique stuff that's a blast to play. Sony, your PSP is a gadget-lover's gaming tool, with everything from Skype to Internet-radio support (oh, yeah, and you have some cool games, as well). But...
Sony is reportedly preparing to cut the price of new UMD videos by $10 to $25 less than the UMD initial pricing.
This will see many new releases hit the market for a maximum of $15.
To quote: “We want to provide a legal offering from the studios, ... and it’s an easier conversation to have with them now,” said John Koller, director of hardware marketing at Sony...
The PSP phone idea has been thrown around for quite a while now, but according to this piece of scanned white paper you see below, it shows just what a device would carry. Click on it for the larger image, unless you've got vision as good as Superman to read everything in fine print.
Have to commend Sony for openly embracing import gamers. The PSP and the PlayStation 3 are region free for games, but not for movies.
The latter is understandable considering movie studios are stuck with draconian product control that has a thankfully easy work around in the form of a region free DVD player. UMDs are a different story because they are region encoded and...
Two weeks ago, Sony launched the PSP PC store with a whimper. It debuted just two days before Thanksgiving, offering PSP owners the chance to download some free themes and buy and download few old and new PSP games. I didn’t hear about any of it until the weekend when it got mentioned on the 1UpYours podcast.
Why the quiet launch? Was Sony embarrassed about it?
