Sony announced the space yesterday, and said that it that will serve as the live entertainment hub of the thriving PS3 online community, hosting everything from new game unveilings to sports events to fashion shows.

289w ago - Sony Computer Entertainment Europe today sent over a selection of screenshots showcasing the new PlayStation Media & Events Space in Home. Last week, the PlayStation Day media event was broadcast within the area to a total of 10,000 Home BETA testers.
On a separate note, a brief e-mail sent out to those participating the Home BETA test today has revealed that Ubisoft will be using the Media & Events Space to showcase their latest titles live from Ubidays tomorrow.
The Home team and Ubisoft would like to invite you to the first ever Publisher Event in Home. Its a pretty exclusive event too as we're still in closed BETA so please try and make time to be a part of a real first.
We'll be in Home in the new Media & Events space on the evening of Wednesday the 28th of May between 7pm BST and 8pm BST time and Ubisoft will be showcasing their new titles for you all.
And there's more to come. While Ubisoft is the first, SCEE is promising that other third party publishers will use the newly-created Home Space to broadcast events as well.
307w ago - Today Ubisoft announced that UBIDAYS™ 2008 will take place May 28- 29 in the heart of Paris's world-famous Louvre museum.
Selected European press and business partners will be invited to discover Ubisoft's new titles and have the opportunity to play the games that will pave the company's future.
Last year's UBIDAYS showcased major announcements, notably the launch of the highly successful Games for Everyone line. The 2008 edition promises to reveal similar surprises and exclusive announcements, while at the same time offer a rare opportunity for guests to meet Ubisoft team members and creative talents.
"The inaugural UBIDAYS in 2007 was a big step for us and a calculated bet, given the worldwide evolution of the industry," said Alain Corre, Executive Director for Europe, the Middle East and Asia Pacific (EMEA). "The positive feedback from last year convinced us that this was the ideal way to present our games and to have enriching exchanges with partners who support us year after year. We're eagerly awaiting UBIDAYS 2008, which is already shaping up to offer a look at future industry trends and the group's upcoming blockbuster titles."
