111w ago - Today Sony's Senior Director of Corporate Communications & Social Media Patrick Seybold has posted an update on their response to the U.S. House of Representatives via the PlayStation Blog.
To quote: Today, the Subcommittee on Commerce, Manufacturing and Trade of the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Energy and Commerce held a hearing in Washington, DC on The Threat of Data Theft to American Consumers.
Kazuo Hirai, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Sony Computer Entertainment America, submitted written answers to questions posed by the subcommittee about the large-scale, criminal cyber-attack we have experienced. We wanted to share those answers with you (click here).
In summary, we told the subcommittee that in dealing with this cyber attack we followed four key principles:
1. Act with care and caution.
2. Provide relevant information to the public when it has been verified.
3. Take responsibility for our obligations to our customers.
4. Work with law enforcement authorities.
We also informed the subcommittee of the following:
Sony has been the victim of a very carefully planned, very professional, highly sophisticated criminal...
146w ago - Today R.U.S.E. Senior Producer Mathieu Girard has shared a video, and announced that R.U.S.E. demo hits PSN today alongside some fresh PlayStation Move details as follows:
As a dev team, we're beyond excited to see the release of R.U.S.E. drawing near -- it launches in the U.S. on September 7th, so we're just about a week away!
R.U.S.E. enables players to use manipulation and trickery against their enemies. In fact, deception is at the very heart of R.U.S.E., and you'll find that without it you cannot succeed.
With R.U.S.E., we aimed to create an RTS that goes beyond the established rules of the genre -- we sincerely hope we have succeeded. You will soon be able to judge for yourself, since we are making a demo of R.U.S.E. available on PSN today!
In the demo, players will be able to check out an exclusive mission from the Italy campaign and play as U.S. General Joe Sheridan, leading the U.S. army in a fight against Germany and Italy. The final objective: cut off a German offensive from withdrawing by attacking them from behind.
Although the Axis forces are retreating in this mission, players will see that one should be very cautious when attacking a wounded beast... if...

To quote: We want to give you an update on SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Fireteam Bravo 3's release date. It will now be available on January 12, 2010. The PSP title's development is on schedule and we are extremely pleased with all aspects of the title.
It's looking and playing great... some high value visual assets (screens and video) have only recently been made available to global marketing and we have decided to move the release and allow time to get the word out to everyone.
I understand that this move is disappointing to some in the community, however as a result, you will be seeing a lot more of SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Fireteam Bravo 3 in the following weeks! - stay tuned.

To quote: We are very happy to announce the COLD FRONT downloadable pack for SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Confrontation.
Loaded with new features and content, this pack brings a brand new snowy Eastern European area of operations into play with two all new maps and three classic SOCOM maps for 16 to 32 players. The classic maps are drawn from some of the most popular SOCOM maps of all time, each built from the ground up for the PS3!
Kit yourself out in snow gear and fight your way through blizzard conditions, joining a team of mercenaries or a squad from one of the world's top Special Forces regiments including the Russian Spetsnaz.
Try your hand at Arms Run, a new game mode that features dynamically placed missile launchers that must be activated or destroyed, depending on which side you're fighting for.
Employ the new thermal vision scope weapon attachment to track your enemies' heat signatures - vital in the dark and useful in daylight for picking out white camouflaged adversaries. In addition, we have new primary weapons to make use of and new attachments.

'Discovery Package' - Explore the Insomniac Moon with a special level that resembles the layout of Insomniac Games' studio offices. A fan favorite, the Moon is filled with content that didn't quite make the final game, sort of like deleted scenes on DVDs. You can earn this unlockable on your own, but Insomniac certainly won't make it easy for ya!
'Power Package' - Up your arsenal with an exclusive weapon skin for one of Ratchet's weapons along with extra hit points and Ratchet's brand new Cryo Mine Glove.
