18w ago - Capcom Community Manager Greg Moore has announced alongside a Face Your Demons video trailer that DmC Devil May Cry officially hits Blu-ray and PSN today!
Below are the details, to quote: The time to face your demons has arrived! DmC Devil May Cry for PlayStation 3 is in stores now, and downloadable from PSN in a day-and-date digital release.
We're really delighted with the final project and I think Ninja Theory did an amazing job of combining existing elements of previous DmCs, while injecting their own flavor into the franchise.
Players can definitely expect to see both radically new elements and returning staple elements from past Devil May Cry games.
New to the gameplay are the Demon and Angel powers, which allow (and demand) Dante to switch fluidly between separate sets of abilities and weapons. The Demon side delivers heavy-hitting but slower attacks, while the Angel side unleashes swift area attacks that are relatively low damage.
Dante can now also use grappling chains to propel himself, enemies, and other objects between two points, allowing for a new emphasis on positioning, crowd control, aerial combat, and some flashy traversal.
As far as the gameplay experience, you'll see a return to the series' trademark mixture of gunplay and swordplay...
32w ago - Might and Delight Co-Founder Jakob Tuchten has detailed PID (Planet in Distress) on PSN today, proclaiming it is more than a pretty face!
Below is the scoop, to quote: We have been developing our first title, PID (coming soon to PSN), for nearly two years now. Like all developers, we had to decide what our focus with the game would be.
The videogame medium is unique in the respect that it borrows from many other media, such as movies, radio, and the written word. The one aspect that separates games from movies or books is their ability to interact. But there are other distinctions worth mentioning, too.
A book is conventionally about the text; a movie is the combination of sound and pictures. A game experience, however, can be crafted using a varied palette and with a more unpredictable focus.
The balance between the different media incorporated within a game differs from project to project. That is the strength of videogames as a medium - but also the challenge for consumers.
As players, we usually carry our own set of expectations and opinions regarding the balance between the games' different sides. Some people prefer titles all about the story; others would discard anything that doesn't demonstrate visual beauty.
85w ago - Today Insomniac Games Senior Community Manager James Stevenson has shared a new PS3 video trailer for Ratchet & Clank All 4 One: Face the Octomoth below!
To quote: We hope you've been enjoying the Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One Limited Beta over the last couple of weeks, and we're excited for you to get your hands on the full game this October 18th.
Recently, we've released videos showing off the different elements of the game, including a particularly epic spot focused on the light-eating Z'Grute boss that our heroes (and villain) must battle in the city of Luminopolis.
This latest video we want to share takes place on the Aldaros Plains, one of the first areas you'll explore on Planet Magnus. This is an area of the planet where the rules of gravity seem to be bent, and floating islands of rock make up the shifting landscape. The boss here is a gigantic creature called an Octomoth.
If the name doesn't give you an immediate idea of what this fearsome creature would be like, watch the video above!
We hope you enjoyed today's video, and have your pre-order for All 4 One all ready to go for the 18th.
