15w ago - FarSight Studios Lead Designer Bobby King has confirmed that the Pinball Arcade Twilight Zone Table is out today.
To quote: This is Bobby King from FarSight Studios, the makers of the Pinball Arcade for PS3 and PS Vita. We are super excited to announce that today, thanks to our fans, we'll be releasing our re-creation of one of the greatest pinball tables ever - Twilight Zone!
With the help of the pinball legend Roger Sharpe, who did the original table's licensing deal for Williams/Bally, we were able to get the CBS-owned rights to the TV show. This deal was too expensive for us to make the numbers work, though.
We would have lost money with the number of sales we were projecting. But thanks to our players and pinball fans all around the world who chipped in through Kickstarter.com - we got the extra money that we needed to make the deal for the Twilight Zone IP!
This is such a great table. Personally, it's my second favorite to play in our game right behind Star Trek: The Next Generation (which we'll be releasing before the end of next month, but I'm getting ahead of myself).
Twilight Zone is awesome! It's an unbelievably deep gameplay experience. One of the features...
179w ago - Today, following an interview with director Eiji Aonuma, IGN (linked above) is reporting some new details on the next Zelda game for the Nintendo Wii.
To quote: "Since then, the publisher has dropped a few more details, first confirming that Link's swordplay would be enhanced by Wii MotionPlus and also revealing that it plans to alter the traditional "flow" of the series.
Dev: With Twilight Princess, we challenged ourself to create the most vast and realistic world the series had ever seen, but we don't feel that we were able to fully complete this objective. With that as a starting point for our improvements to the series in the future, we are of course working on a new game for Wii.
Might the forthcoming Zelda title, which is purportedly set to be unveiled at next year's E3, be the Wii equivalent of Majora's Mask?
Dev: For any game to be remembered for a long time, just like Ocarina of Time was, the game must give the strong impression that it has set a new starting point for future sequels to build upon. We are working to further improve upon the experiences found in Twilight Princess so that our future games can realize these innovations."
216w ago - Those considering updating to Nintendo's Wii System Menu 4.0 today may wish to read Marcan's System Menu 4.0 Rundown first as follows:
• Nintendo, as expected, half-assed the SD feature by just automating the copy to NAND. No surprise there.
• The IOS16 that warez users used to pirate is no longer an option, thank goodness.
• HBC survives. So does DVDX.
• They fixed the bug that the HBC installer and DVDX 3.4 installer use; time to bring out another one.
• Twilight Hack no longer works. I'd like to remind everyone that this exploit has been in use for over a year. Whether it comes back or a new game exploit takes its place, I think we can say it's served us all well.
• No new problems expected with BootMii, other than needing a new exploit as mentioned above.
234w ago - So I said that the Twilight Hack was gone and probably wouldn't be coming back. Good thing I left that probably in there.
Yes, they screwed up the anti-Twilight Hack check. Again.
There's not much point in us publishing a detailed explanation on where the problems are this time around. It comes down to nothing remarkable anyway - just more stupid, silly bugs. They fixed some and added more. We didn't look much this time because we thought that, well, they really couldn't have screwed it up this time, could they?
As it turns out, you didn't even have to look at the code to figure out that something was wrong. Someone tried to copy the Twilight Hack out of a 3.3 Wii and into a 3.4 Wii. Go ahead, try it. It doesn't quite work (it crashes the game when used), but the save copies. Oops. Props to Krusty for pointing this out.
Will this finally be the last release of the Twilight Hack? Will Nintendo finally manage to beat it into the ground? Third time's the charm, maybe? We don't know.
Notes: This is for 3.4 ONLY. 3.3 and earlier users should continue with the v0.1-beta1 Twilight Hack. The hacked savefile will be deleted...
