256w ago - Well, they didn't announce one in its current parlance exactly. It's more like the original horse -- the one that disgorged the elite Achaeans into Troy. In this case, the Trojan Horse is the PS3 console, and it will be disgorging content. It's not I who made this historical comparison, some analyst did, but I sure wish I had.

The plan was, all along it seems, to roll out the game console and constantly upgrade its capabilities. For example, soon you will be able to get news and weather from your PS3, download feature films, and there will be a photo/movie management app with geotagging and a globe view, not unlike what I saw at the Surface event, but without the (somewhat critical) touchy interface.

Well, I look forward to getting a PS3 one of these days, but they keep making it a sweeter deal so I think I'll just continue to hold off for the moment.
