Video: Trials Fusion: FMX Tricks, High Scores and Lots of Crashes

50°
39w ago - Sony Content Manager Ed Casey made available a video today spotlighting FMX tricks, high scores and lots of crashes in Trials Fusion on the PlayStation 4 video gaming system.

To quote: Trials is known for its high-flying, face-smashing, precision platforming races, but get ready to take it up a notch (maybe several notches) with the all new FMX Tricks System. More than simple flips and twists, FMX will have you pulling moves like the Dead-Body, Going Up, and everyone's favorite: The Superman.

You can forget the clock and take on dedicated FMX Trick Attack courses where the goal is to pull as many high flying, death defying, don't-try-this-at-home tricks as you can on tracks specially designed to keep you airborne and twisting like Dorothy's house in a tornado.

It may look easy, but this is Trials and the cruel laws of physics still apply, so it's likely that you're going to land on your face at least once. Or sixteen times.

Huge tricks, high scores, and bone-crushing crashes await you. See you in the air.

Trials Fusion will be available on PS4 as a digital download for $19.99, or you can pick up a retail edition, which includes a Season Pass, for $39.99.

To quote: Hi everybody! First of all, we've been live in the United States for two days now and, according to your user reviews, we've been getting a whole lot of love.

But we'd be thrilled to hear what you think in the comments below or on Twitter. And hey, there's still a couple of days left on the Spring Fever promotion for all you PlayStation Plus people out there - which means 20% off on SteamWorld Dig as well as a whole bunch of other titles. The sale lasts until March 24th, so don't miss it.

Also, because a lot of you have been asking about cross buy, we're happy to confirm that SteamWorld Dig is cross buy across PS4 and PS Vita. And now for a few hints and tips to all you new diggers out there...

Don't Get Greedy

Even though SteamWorld Dig is a mining game, hoarding is not recommended. If you're unfortunate enough to fall to your death or get crushed by a falling boulder, you'll be reassembled back in town. But reassembly comes at a price. Half your mined gold is the standard fee....

57w ago - Armature Studio Game Director Mark Pacini shared some Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate PS Vita tips and tricks today in video format below.

To quote: Hey everyone, Mark Pacini here, Game Director at Armature Studio for Batman Arkham Origins Blackgate. We have some videos highlighting our latest game on PS Vita.

Blackgate is a 2.5D Metroidvania take on the popular Batman: Arkham series. The game itself takes place three months after the events of Batman: Arkham Origins, where Batman is sent in to investigate a riot at Blackgate Prison.

We recorded several "Case Files" to both introduce people to the game, as well as give a few hints here and there. We want you to be able to get the most out of Blackgate, as we tried to pour as much variety and intensity into it as possible.

Combat

FreeFlow Combat is one of the core pillars of the Batman: Arkham franchise, and we've adapted FreeFlow Combat from the console editions of the games into the 2.5D perspective of Blackgate. We had specific challenges in bringing this combat into the 2.5D plane on a completely different game engine, while maintaining the feeling of "being Batman" in combat.

This video highlights the various combat encounters in the game, including the different thug types, as well...

Sony Unveils Nine PlayStation Vita Tips and Tricks for Gamers

650°
148w ago - Sony Senior Social Media Specialist Sid Shuman has unveiled nine tips and tricks for next-generation handheld gamers below today!

To quote: If you've picked up PS Vita then you've probably been too busy plowing through the dense launch line-up to have spent much time browsing the Settings menu.

Luckily, you don't need to - we've spent plenty of time with PlayStation's new crown jewel and we've put together a few favorite tips and tricks we wanted to share. Of course, this is just a start: We want your tips, too!

If you've discovered any favorite PS Vita functions, please share them in the comments for all to enjoy this weekend.

1. Order in the court! By now, you've probably figured out how to move your game and app bubbles around the Home Menu by pressing and holding one using the front touchscreen, enabling you to drag it around into different frame.

You can even change the background color or image by tapping the theme icon in the bottom right of each frame. Get creative and design your own background images (which you can transfer to your PS Vita via PS3) like James Gallagher from the EU PlayStation Blog did here.

2. Let there be light. You can adjust your PS Vita's OLED screen brightness mid-game without the hassle of jumping...

Dead Nation PS3 Tips and Tricks: Dead Bodies Everywhere

200°
212w ago - Sony's Senior Social Media Specialist Sid Shuman has posted up a collection of Dead Nation PS3 tips and tricks today dubbed 'Dead Bodies Everywhere' for fans.

To quote: Dead Nation's nonstop shooting and scrambling will test the mettle of even a veteran gamer – and that's part of the fun!

I've compiled my battle-tested tactics gleaned from beating the game on the "Grim" difficulty, plus bonus tips shared by PlayStation Twitter followers.

Earn more gold, find more health, beat back mobs efficiently, and choose the right upgrades. Be sure to leave your own battle-tested tips in the comments!

Mob Rules

• Rush makes you (briefly) invincible. Pressing L2 grants you a burst of speed that makes you untouchable for a nanosecond. Use it to dodge angry Bombies, power through a zombie crowd, or sprint over flames. But even the Rush won't save you from the dreaded Cutter...
• Master the Melee. Melee attacks (R2) knock away all zombies, even those lurking behind you, so it's a must for crowd control. To be a real melee monster, collect fashionable ExoGear armor pieces hidden throughout the game and equip them at the Weapon Shop.
• Melee while reloading. Stuck in a reload animation just as a mob is closing in? Jam on the melee button...
