132w ago - Recently some COD Black Ops videos surfaced showing off a 15th Prestige XP and Infinite Care Package hack, and as a result Treyarch COD: Black Ops designer David 'Vahn' Vonderhaar has issued a statement warning PS3 glitchers.
To quote: "This is going to be my one and only statement on this topic, so pay attention.
I got Twitbombed today from dozens of people the same 2 links. Some are people using old dashboards or old versions of the game. Others are claiming victory on old dev builds that don't even connect to the version of Xbox Live that you use. Others are reproducible issues that we will hotfix or patch just like we said we would. In essence, we likely know more about it than you do from watching a video on Vimeo or YouTube.
What many of these people want is to be Internet nerd famous. I'm not going to make them famous and you shouldn't either. Internet hysteria from normal people is exactly what they want and that's how many people reacted today. You gave them exactly what they want.
Given the opportunity, I'd personally wield the ban hammer for anyone...
134w ago - Treyarch Community Manager Josh Olin has revealed some little-known facts today on Call of Duty: Black Ops Multiplayer for the PS3 entertainment system.
To quote: Thank you for the opportunity to highlight some of the features that Call of Duty: Black Ops will deliver to PS3 fans when it launches on November 9th.
A number of these features are ones that I think the community has been wanting for a long time, which is why we've worked really hard to deliver. So let's get started!
Multiplayer Online Split-Screen Support
Let's get started with what I believe is the most unknown, yet confirmed, aspect to Call of Duty: Black Ops multiplayer - the online split-screen support we've re-introduced to the franchise!
• You can connect a second controller and bring a guest online (i.e. "JD_2020" & "JD_2020(1)").
• Guests can rank up, earn unlocks, etc - all guest progress goes away once signed out.
Custom Games Editor
Allow me to introduce the Black Ops Custom Games Editor! Private matches have never been this customizable. Players will have the ability to structure their games at all new levels of granularity. From variables as simple...
197w ago - Today Treyarch has given a serious warning to all Sony PSN and Microsoft XBox Live would-be hackers and console modders... if you are caught, you'll be banned from all of their online services.
To quote: Our most recent TU addressed a number of issues that arose as a result of modders hacking their console and ultimately disrupting the online experience for everybody else.
In light of these recent events, I'd like to make something abundantly clear to the community: Treyarch has adopted a zero tolerance policy towards console hackers / modders. We are actively working with our console partners (Microsoft and Sony) to take action against all proven offenders, up to and including a complete ban from all of their online services.
Our number one priority is to protect the experience of our online gaming community (most of you reading this message), and the efforts of console hackers / modders directly target the community in a negative way.
We understand that a primary motivation in hacking / modding is to bring something "fresh" or "new" to the game. That is why the PC platform has a full suite of Mapping / Modding tools, along with plenty of documentation to go along with it.
If you are interested in the technical aspect of game modding, check out the PC version...
