Sony Announces Four New Animals Hit Tokyo Jungle on PSN Today

50°
32w ago - Sony Assistant Producer Dais Kawaguchi has announced that four new animals are hitting Tokyo Jungle on PSN today.

To quote: It's been two weeks since we released TOKYO JUNGLE and we're thrilled with the comments we've received from players. Thanks to everyone who is enjoying the game!

Today, we are releasing four additional animal characters (Crocodile, Giraffe, Kangaroo, Panda) and giving away more costumes, so please be sure to check out PlayStation Store this afternoon.

In other news, we've received many questions about TOKYO JUNGLE's premise and gameplay, so we asked Game Director Yohei Kataoka from Crispy's and Producer Masaaki Yamagiwa from Japan Studio to elaborate on the game's concept and inception.

Dais Kawaguchi, Assistant Producer: Can you please explain how you came up with the idea for TOKYO JUNGLE?

Yohei Kataoka, Game Director: The business philosophy for "Crispy's Corporation," the studio I established, is to "develop a new product that nobody has ever seen before."

However, just because it's new doesn't mean it will be well received. When I was struggling to figure out how to create something that's innovative and compelling, I came across an article of famous singer-songwriters...

Comcept: Soul Sacrifice for PS Vita Takes Tokyo Game Show

100°
35w ago - Comcept Founder Keiji Inafune has announced today that Soul Sacrifice for PS Vita is taking the Tokyo Game Show this year!

To quote: I'm excited that those of you who are attending Tokyo Game Show will finally be able to have some hands-on experience with Soul Sacrifice!

Once you play the game, I'm sure that you'll have a better sense of the world I've been wanting to create.

You'll be able to face the dilemmas, tough decisions, and the agony of choice that I've been wanting to portray in a game. I believe the TGS demo does a great job of conveying this new concept.

In the trailers and interviews released so far, we've shown the game's dark world setting and shared some of the story elements revealed in the single player mode.

We've also shared a few of the back stories from both the monsters and sorcerers that you'll encounter during gameplay. During TGS, I'm looking forward to showing you what the multiplayer mode can offer.

"Truly cooperate with allies" - I've explained the concept behind the multiplayer mode in the past, but I'm sure you'll gain a full understanding after playing through this TGS demo. You will experience trusting in your friends, being double-crossed or double crossing, and you will realize...

Video: Fight to Survive in Tokyo Jungle, Hits PSN September 25th

300°
39w ago - Sony Assistant Producer Dais Kawaguchi announced today that fans seeking to fight to survive in Tokyo Jungle can do so when the PSN title hits PlayStation Network this September 25th.

Below are the details, to quote: You may have caught wind of this one-of-a-kind title's release in Japan or heard whispers of it this past E3, but we're excited to finally announce that Tokyo Jungle will be coming to PS3 via PSN very shortly - on September 25th, to be exact!

Developed by PlayStation C.A.M.P and Crispy's, Tokyo Jungle is an action-adventure game set in a post-apocalyptic Japan, where humankind no longer exists and animals must ruthlessly fight for their lives. In this world, there's just one rule - only the strong survive!

Tokyo Jungle puts you in the shoes (paws?) of over 50 playable animals ranging from Pomeranians to Lions. Playing your animal of choice, unleash your inner beast to hunt your way to the top of Tokyo's post-apocalyptic food chain.

There are two game modes: in Story Mode, you'll play as a range of different animals whose lives are intertwined as they struggle to survive in the Tokyo wilderness, while unraveling the mystery of mankind's disappearance.

In Survival Mode, you...

Sega Unveils Tokyo Tour Through Eyes of Yakuza: Dead Souls PS3

50°
61w ago - Sega of America Community Manager Kellie Parker has shared a virtual tour of Tokyo this weekend through the eyes of Yakuza: Dead Souls on the PS3 entertainment system.

To quote: Many people dream of visiting Tokyo and a few lucky ones actually get to go. If the long flights, heavy suitcases and language barriers just aren't in the cards for you, don't fret.

You can still see some actual real-life Tokyo sights, restaurants, amusements and more in Yakuza: Dead Souls - which is out now on PS3, by the way.

Just like any good tourist guidebook, here's a map of Kamurocho (a city inspired by the famous red light district in Tokyo), with a numbered list of restaurants, advertising and more that are actually real-life things. We've also added the location of the first three zombie bosses*. We're just nice like that.

*The location of these items doesn't match those that can be found in real-life.

Also, we must warn you: there are no zombies in the real Tokyo - at least, as far as we know - but there are many, many more of them in Yakuza: Dead Souls than we've shown on this map. We'll let you find them all (or let them find you first)!

2. If you'd prefer to eat at home or in your hotel room while watching strange Japanese TV shows, you could buy a pack of...
