Cheaper PS3 CECH-4300C 500GB Model Announced for Japan This Month

100°
10w ago - Today Sony [Register or Login to view links] a cheaper PS3 CECH-4300C 500GB model currently slated for Japan later this month with details below.

To quote: "Sony has just announced a new, cheaper PlayStation 3 will be launched in Japan on August 28.

The new CECH-4300C model packs in 500GB of storage and will be on sale for 25,980 yen, which comes to about £151/$253/AU$272, making it a tad cheaper than the current model.

Meanwhile the existing 250GB and 500GB black PS3 models, along with the 250GB white one, will be discontinued. We've contacted Sony to ask whether we might see the new model launched globally, and what other changes might be included with the new console.

It may be nothing more than some slightly tweaked innards, but a cost reduction would be more than welcome - especially as Sony's still giving its full support to the last-gen console, with plenty of new titles still on the horizon."

Resogun: New Modes, Ship Editor, and More Hitting PS4 This Month

50°
20w ago - Housemarque's Mikael Haveri announced today that new modes, a ship editor, and more are hitting Resogun on PS4 this month!

To quote: Great news everyone - the humans are back!

The explosive PS4 launch title, RESOGUN, is finally getting more content in the form of the Heroes expansion and a complimentary patch.

RESOGUN: Heroes will introduce two brand new modes: 'Survival'' and 'Demolition'. In essence, Survival is an endless mode that retains a lot of the core mechanics from the original Arcade mode. We switched up a few things, like scoring, and gave the humans parachutes as you can see in the image below.

The Day/Night cycle is another prominent feature of the new Survival mode. As you play, the varying time of day provides a great aesthetic and visual indicator, letting you know how far you have come.

Survival mode is for players who know they can always do a bit better. There are a lot of cool new things to learn while you take the ride, but as we intend to stay true to the arcade feeling, we will let you discover the twists yourself.

Demolition is my personal favorite, and a quantum leap from the original gameplay mechanics. "Arkanoid meets RESOGUN" is one way to sum...

Strike Suit Zero: Director's Cut Coming to PlayStation 4 This Month

50°
33w ago - Born Ready Games Community Manager Jamin Smith announced today alongside a video trailer that Strike Suit Zero: Director's Cut is coming to PlayStation 4 this month.

To quote: Hullo, I'm Jamin Smith, Community Manager and writery person over at Born Ready Games. I'm here to announce that Strike Suit Zero: Director's Cut will be heading to PS4 later this month. If mechs, space, and blowing things to smithereens with mechs (in space) are your thing, read on.

Strike Suit Zero is a space combat game that harkens back to the days of Wing Commander, Freelancer, X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter – all the classics - but with a mech twist to the dogfighting, and a next-gen lick of paint. At the heart of our game is a ship that can transform from a traditional fighter to a lethal suit of space armor: the Strike Suit.

This really changes up the core concept of dogfighting, allowing pilots to transform, turn 180 degrees, and unleash a barrage of missiles without having to go through the laborious procedure of 'jousting' that older space combat titles relied on.

The Strike Suit was designed by Junji Okubo (Appleseed: Ex-Machina, Steel Battalion, Infinite Space), who has a very functional approach to mechanical design. As...
