Video: PS4 Has 2000 Friend Limit, PlayStation 4 Party Chat Free to All

400°
59w ago - Today a new PlayStation Q&A video (below) has surfaced from Sony confirming that Party Chat will be available on the PS4 without PS Plus and that the friends list can hold up to 2000 friends.

To quote: "Sony has confirmed that you won't need a PS Plus subscription to make use of the PlayStation 4's party chat functionality.

In a new Q&A video, it's been revealed that the new party chat feature will be available to everyone, even if they opt not to subscribe to PlayStation Plus.

At the moment, a PlayStation Plus subscription is needed to the online multiplayer of most titles, though services like Netflix, party chat, and free-to-play games like DC Universe Online will be available without it.

Additionally, the video also confirms that PlayStation 4 friends lists will be capped at 2,000 people, DualShock 3 controllers won't work with the PS4 while the PlayStation Move will, and your PSN avatar and username will carry over to PlayStation 4 along with a host of privacy options.

One of the biggest concerns fans have raised about the PlayStation 4 is just how many features will be accessible without owning a PS Plus account."

88w ago - XSEED Localization Specialist Tom Lipschultz has posted up a video today spotlighting Corpse Party: Book of Shadows for PSP and PS Vita which is incoming next week with details below.

To quote: Well, the time is almost upon us. A week from today - Tuesday, January 15th, 2013 - Corpse Party: Book of Shadows will be available for purchase on the North American PlayStation Store for $19.99, with a European release to follow shortly thereafter.

It's been a long journey getting this game to you guys, so it seemed prudent to give you all a bit more information about it. After all, an appetite for blood and dismay is at its best when thoroughly whetted.

And since each chapter in Corpse Party: Book of Shadows tells its own standalone story, I thought the best way to make you salivate even more would be to give a brief, spoiler-free introduction to each one. So without further ado, here's a taste of what's in store for you when you fire up your PSP (or PS Vita) next week.

Chapter 1: Seal

An important introduction to the "alternate universe" within which several of the game's chapters take place. What if our poor Kisaragi High protagonists went into Heavenly Host Elementary School (the cursed...

98w ago - FarSight Studios Lead Designer Bobby King is here with a new video featuring Elvira in The Pinball Arcade which hits PSN tomorrow.

To quote: Happy Halloween week guys and gals - we've got a special treat for you all! In our on-going quest to re-create as many of the best pinball tables of all time, we were able to get the licenses needed from Bally and the Mistress of the Dark herself, [Register or Login to view links]!

This means Elvira and the Party Monsters will be released in Table Pack 6 tomorrow, and Scared Stiff will be released before too long in Table Pack 7.

Elvira has been super cool to work with. She invited us to part of her Macabre Museum at [Register or Login to view links] last month.

We got to show off the Party Monsters table right along with a real machine. Some of the guys here on the pinball team got to meet her, and she even came over and played our game for a while. She's actually pretty good at pinball!

This is also pretty cool - [Register or Login to view links] just gave us the nod for two of their [Register or Login to view links]

Corpse Party: Book of Shadows on PSP This Winter, Sale Tomorrow

100°
100w ago - XSeed Localization Specialist Tom Lipschultz has announced today that Corpse Party: Book of Shadows is coming this Winter alongside a sale on PSN tomorrow.

To quote: Corpse Party on PSP. What more can you say about it? In my previous PlayStation.Blog entries, I've likened it to horror classics such as Clock Tower and Fatal Frame.

I've talked about how it's one of the creepiest, most effective horror games I've ever played, and how its unique visuals, its 3D binaural audio and its storytelling methods help give it an uncomfortable, unforgettable atmosphere. And you, fair players... you agreed with me.

You played it late at night with headphones on, just as I suggested, and it kept you awake. It haunted your nightmares and made you jump every time your house creaked or your neighbor's kids smacked the wall... until you realized, wait a minute, I don't have any neighbors!

And then you were never heard from again...Presumably because you were too busy getting every wrong end in the game, of course. It's hard to resist the charm of those horrible, horrible deaths, after all! Call it morbid curiosity if you will, but we all know you, like Morishige, get a certain sadistic thrill out of seeing (or, more often, hearing) these characters you've come to know and love get killed,...

Video: Lights, Camera, Party! PlayStation Move DLC is Out Today

50°
100w ago - Frima Studio Executive Producer Martin Brouard has confirmed alongside a video trailer that Lights, Camera, Party PlayStation Move DLC is out today!

To quote: Lights, Camera, Party! fans: Today we are launching new DLC called The Good, the Bad and the Monkey! The DLC pack contains 10 new minigames as well as a new game mode called The Duel.

Six additional trophies and 40 additional in-game awards are also part of the package. You do not want to miss this opportunity to PARTY ON!

Duel mode lets you play six rounds of mini games head to head against another player in order to defeat your opponent and win a classic high noon showdown. Of course all 60 LCP minigames can show up in the Duel.

The team has decided to give an interesting twist to this DLC by focusing on exploiting the most challenging and entertaining gestures with the PlayStation Move.

The themes of the new minigames are as silly as ever, and include:

• Eating corn on a cob (as a monkey!)
• Shaking the hell out of a banana-shooting coconut tree
• Stopping a rampaging Funzaur using a laser-beaming satellite
• Keeping Ape TV's studio afloat by fixing its monkey-busted monitors
• Assembling...
