Ruled by power and money, the City grows sick. Unwise men have tempered with powers they don't understand. You take on the role of Garrett, the Master Thief, and you can approach each situation in the way you choose.

Play as a predator and strike from the shadows, or complete the game without taking a single life. You can even complete the game without causing an enemy alert. This is classic Thief.

Want to really challenge yourself? Completely turn off the screen's interface, or even enable Iron Man mode, which triggers a Game Over if Garrett dies. There's a multitude of ways to fully customize your experience, as we know you guys like to tinker. So make sure you check out all the options we've made available...

Video: Thief on PS4 and PS3: New Trailer Emerges, Out This Month

100°
25w ago - Producer Stephane Roy of Eidos Montreal shared a new video trailer today announcing that Thief will be hitting both PS4 and PS3 platforms this month.

To quote: It's a wrap! After liters of coffee and buckets of sweat, I'm really thrilled to be able to scream it from the rooftops: THIEF IS DONE!

That's right - Thief has gone gold and will be available on February 25th. To find out everything you need to know about the game we've created a new 101 trailer that we're releasing today.

Thief really brings to life the fantasy of being the ultimate Master Thief: planning a heist and infiltrating your target, avoiding all the security measures in your way, grabbing the most precious loot and escaping without getting caught.

I'm particularly proud of all the efforts the team has made to honor the history of the franchise while remaining connected to the gamers of today. This is something that our studio Eidos-Montreal achieved first with our previous game, Deus Ex: Human Revolution.

Fans of the original Thief will be relieved to find the ingredients that made it one of the most respected franchises in the industry.

The game doesn't take gamers for idiots, it's far from easy, and...

Sony Goes Hands-on with Thief for PS4 / PlayStation 4, Details

27w ago - Sony Social Media Specialist Ryan Clements went hands-on with Thief for PS4 / PlayStation 4 with details below, as follows:

Garrett snuffs out a candle flame as he stalks through the closed jewelry shop, inches away from a snoring guard. While the jeweler toils in his basement and his wife basks by the fire, Garrett slips silently from room to room, rifling through drawers and pocketing valuable trinkets.

Thief on PS4 is at its best when Garrett is left to his own devices, enabling players to vault through windows and pry open cabinets as the master thief himself.

This reboot of the classic stealth series takes a more open-world approach as players prowl the alleys and rooftops of The City, a shadowy nexus bathed in perpetual twilight. The City itself is a visual delight, steeped in long shadows and wavering fires that turn every nook and cranny into a sneaky play space.

And Thief's thieving feels tactile. Coins, jewelry, and other collectibles litter cabinets and line hidden vaults, providing ample motivation for completionists to search every corner and crevice. The more loot you collect, the more resources you'll be able to buy.

One resource worthy of investment is Garrett's trusty bow, which supports many arrow types - some for extinguishing flames, others...

44w ago - Sony Social Media Specialist Ryan Clements revealed some PS4 and DualShock 4 secrets is a Thief developer Q&A session below.

To quote: With the power of shadows at his beck and call, master thief Garrett returns to PS3 and PS4 in 2014 with a new bag of tricks.

The well-loved stealth series has always empowered gamers with a broad array of in-game choices, whether it was using lethal or nonlethal tactics to drop nosy guards, or leveraging magic and technology to overcome adversity. The upcoming Thief is no exception.

In order to learn more about Thief's stealth systems, storytelling, and PS4 benefits, we turned to Producer Stephane Roy. He shared some incredible insight into Thief's design process, and even sheds new light on how DualShock 4 will empower PS4 thieves.

So let's see what Garrett's gotten himself into this time...

PlayStation.Blog: While developing for both PS3 and PS4, do you have any predictions for what's possible on PS4 that isn't possible on PS3?

Stephane Roy: There are multiple components to this question; an AI component, an audio component, an art component. It's very important for us to immerse players in our universe.

We want to make sure players really feel like they're Garrett, that they're...
