PS4 ShareFactory 1.03 Update is Live, Adds New Theme and Features

2w ago - Following up on their previous update, today Sony has put PS4 ShareFactory 1.03 Update live, which adds a new PlayStation 4 theme and features as detailed below.

To quote: "Sony Computer Entertainment just made version 1.03 of the video editing software for PS4 ShareFactory available for download across the PSN. The update weighs 264 Mb.

  • Added a new "Horror" Theme
  • Support for High Quality microphones
  • Audio playback and export quality improvements
  • Ability to set transition volume
  • Ability to adjust filter effects
  • 1 new filter effect
  • Auto-trim clips if they do not fit into the project timeline
  • Various bug fixes and ubability improvements

Starting tomorrow, non-game Themes including Crystal, Four Seasons, and Stitching will be available to purchase...
 

PS4 / PS Vita Themes Incoming, Live from PlayStation App Vita-bound

8w ago - Sony Product Planning and Software Innovation Director Scott McCarthy confirmed the recent rumors today at their Tokyo Press Conference that PS4 / PS Vita Themes are incoming and that their Live from PlayStation App is also PS Vita-bound.

To quote: Early this morning, Sony Computer Entertainment Japan Asia (SCEJA) held a press conference in Tokyo where some new features were announced for both PS4 and PS Vita.

In case you missed it, I'm happy to confirm that Themes, one of the most popular features from PlayStation 3, are coming to PS4 and PS Vita this fall with system software updates coming to both platforms.





With these two updates (v2.00 for PS4 and v3.30 for PS Vita), you'll be able to reflect your personality across all your PlayStation systems - PS4, PS3, and PS Vita!

PS4 XMB Themes Likely in Firmware / System Software Update v2.00

10w ago - Following up on yesterday's PS4 Firmware 2.00 news, today according to a Sony [Register or Login to view links] the next System Software Update will also include PlayStation 4 XMB Themes with details below.

To quote: "Something PS4 owners have been clamoring for since the system’s launch last November are customization options including themes to make your XMB more personal.

Well at Gamescom Sony announced System Software Update 2.0 which would bring SharePlay among other features to the platform.

As for the other features, it looks like one of those will be themes. The PlayStation Blog crew was discussing the update on the [Register or Login to view links] of the PlayStation Blogcast and 1 hour and 16 minutes into the episode, they announced that themes would be making their way to the PS4 in this update.

They didn’t share if this would mean dynamic themes or static themes, but themes in general will offer a nice break from the static blue background of the PS4′s XMB."

Guide to Install multiMAN PS3 Themes via USB from a PKG File

74w ago - Today Italian PlayStation 3 scene site BiteYourConsole has shared a guide on how to install multiMAN PS3 Themes via USB from a PKG file below.

To quote, roughly translated: Here is the program that allows us to download the theme directly in a PKG file and you can install through a pendrive.

The program was inspired by earlier work done on Bite that we allowed them to create the PKG file, the program was modified to allow an upgrade file that goes to save the theme within multiMAN.

Procedure

  • Drag the file.THM in the themes folder.
  • Click on theme.bat and wait the end of the process.
  • Copy the MM4PS3-BLES80608_00-MULTIMANAGER0440.pkg file on a usb stick and install on the PS3.

The program can also be used for the themes of the hcode123 mod and opium2k, but only about MultiMAN.

Finally, multiMAN Theme Control (32 and 64 bits) is an executable...
