ThatGameCompany's Flow PS4 Game Comes to PlayStation 4 Tuesday

100°
42w ago - Associate Producer Eric Fong of Santa Monica Studio announced that ThatGameCompany's Flow PS4 game is coming to PlayStation 4 this Tuesday.

To quote: Hi all, season's greetings from everyone here at Sony Santa Monica!

For me, the holidays are a time for reverence, a time to give thanks to family/friends/co-workers, a time to look forward to the new possibilities the coming year has to offer and of course a time to enjoy some games.

This year, I had the good fortune to work on two ports of thatgamecompany's games with two amazing developers: Flower on PS4 and PS Vita with Bluepoint Games, and flOw on PS4 and PS Vita with SuperVillain Studios. I'd like to thank all of the fans out there who helped to make Flower the top-selling PS4 (Without Digital Upgrade) game on PlayStation Store.

If you are one of the many people who enjoyed Flower, be sure to check out flOw on PS4 and PS Vita when it comes out on December 17th (that's Tuesday!) - It's $5.99 for the base game and $1.99 for the DLC.

And if you're in the mood for something a little different, something a little dark but chock full of humor, check out Escape Plan - now available on PS4. Escape Plan is a cross-buy title for PS4 and PS Vita available for $14.99.

And just a reminder that these are Cross-Buy...

ThatGameCompany: Journey Takes Its First Steps on PSN in March

50°
137w ago - Creative Director Jenova Chen at ThatGameCompany has announced today that Journey will be taking its first steps on PSN this coming March.

To quote: As you may know from my recent tweet, the development of our latest PlayStation Network game, Journey, is finally complete. And today, we're very excited to announce the official release date for Journey.

You will be able to download it from the PlayStation Store for $14.99 starting March 13th, 2012. Three years ago, our last game, Flower, was part of the Spring Fever event on PSN, and this year Journey will kick off this year's Spring Fever.

Look for more information on the highlight games and sales of this year's Spring Fever event on the PlayStation.Blog in the coming weeks.

With each game we create, we want to bring something truly unique and authentic to the user. We want our players to experience something they have never felt before. Our first game for PSN was flOw in 2007, a meditative zen video game haiku.

We followed that in 2009 with Flower, our video game version of a poem about the tension between urban bustle and natural serenity. Journey, our third game, is an interactive parable, an anonymous online adventure to experience a person's life passage and their intersections with other's.

ThatGameCompany Reveals Journey on PSN Begins Spring 2012

50°
157w ago - Today ThatGameCompany co-founder Jenova Chen has announced that Journey will be hitting PSN during Spring of 2012, with the details as follows:

First of all I would like to thank you for your support during the closed beta for our upcoming game Journey. It was a great success!

For the past few months, we kept getting asked about Journey's release date. Yes, we haven't said anything about our release in a while mainly because we really couldn't tell. And we don't want to throw out a date that we are not sure about, and later disappoint our players.

Fortunately, the online beta went very well, and our continued playtests have given us great feedback on the work we have left to complete. While there is still a ton of care and polish needed, we can't wait to finally deliver Journey, TGC's take on an online adventure game.

Like all our games, Journey is an experiment. In the end, it's what you think that matters. We are happy to announce Journey will be released Spring 2012, so you can experience the adventure for yourself.

Playtest ThatGameCompany's Journey PSN Title Next Week in LA

100°
203w ago - President and co-founder of ThatGameCompany Kellee Santiago has announced today that fans can playtest their upcoming PSN title called Journey next week in LA.

To quote: Since popping our heads out of the sand to announce [Register or Login to view links] at E3 this year, we have been deep in the throes of development.

But now I'm peeking up again to see if any of you might be interested in giving us feedback on the game here in Los Angeles!

As you might already know, we have an extremely iterative development process, which means that although we are still building out the game, we like to get feedback from players early so we can incorporate it into the final version.

This is a great opportunity to see the game as it progresses, and get a look behind the curtain of game development. Also, we'd love to have folks from this community help us! Here's the info:

Evening of November 19th, 2010

Requirements to participate are:

• Be between the ages of 18 and 35.
• Be an active PSN game player. We want people who are familiar with PSN games, visit the Store, and download games as a part of their PlayStation life.
• Live in Los Angeles, and have reliable transportation to the playtest...
