Noob2psp has just released a new homebrew application which has the following functions - restore dead pixels, change CPU speed, restore the defauly XMB theme and the ability to BRICK your PSP (to test Pandora's Battery).
I have just released my Homebrew app PSPRestore Beta 2. What can you do with this app? Well, with this app can you restore your psp in just a few seconds. Here a list with the current functions of the Beta 2:
Restore Stuck Pixels (Updated!)
Change CPU speed
Restore the default XMB theme (Updated!)
POC: Brick your PSP (by the release of Pandora's battery) (Updated!)
The new PSP is a slimmer, lighter version of the original, with a few new features. The system plays the exact same games, but now it has a video output port that lets you connect the PSP to an external display, such as an HDTV, for big-screen playback. The system also has a simplified UMD loading tray, 32MB more system memory, lower power consumption, a smaller battery, and can now charge via USB. The new PSP will replace the current system this September. Systems will be available in Piano Black, Ice Silver, and Ceramic White. They'll come in various retail packages with a variety of bundle options that include pack-in games, UMD movies, memory sticks, and, in the case of the white PSP, a Darth Vader silk-screened battery cover.
The Ice Silver PSP will ship with the Daxter PSP Entertainment Pack.
While it was nice to check out the new PSP's redesigned features at E3, what we really wanted to do was pull out a few games and test how the new portable handles ... More »
The game itself is called Ferrari Challenge, and it's aiming to offer nothing less ambitious than the entire Ferrari production line since 1947. There's one rather large caveat there, in that it will ship with 30 different models at launch, but System 3 hopes to fill out the rest of the catalog with monthly update. There's no solid information yet on pricing, but System 3 seem keen to take the microtransaction route via the PlayStation Store.
The same will go for tracks in the game, with the 13 available in the boxed copy being expanded with new ones each month (and Monaco as soon as the game launches). In the meantime, there'll be seven from Europe and six from America available at the start, four of which were available in the demo that we played at Ferrari's very own Mugello track in Italy. Sadly, that particular track wasn't on offer this time (it was last seen in Forza Motorsport 2), but Monza, Silverstone, Misano, and Paul Ricard all looked to accurately represent t... More »

Sony has updated the PlayStation Network with an impressive five demos this week. If that weren't enough, two new downloadable games are also now available, as well as a host of game trailers, videos, and wallpaper packs.
Announced in May, Sonly Online Entertainment's High Stakes on the Vegas Strip: Poker Edition deals out five types of poker on the PSN. The game features Texas hold'em, super hold'em, billabong, Tahoe, and Shanghai, and players can practice their bluffing solo or test their mettle online against five others. It will sell for $9.99. The demo is joined by a trailer for the game and a wallpaper pack.
Also added to the PSN this week is Q-Games' PixelJunk Racers. Players will be able to zip around 10 different tracks in micro-sized racer cars seen from a top-down perspective. Variety being the spice of life, the game will offer 32 different modes. The game is available for $6.99. For PS3 owners looking to be judicious with their monies, Sony has ... More »
Rock Band, as the name implies, expands on the music rhythm game genre by adding more players and more instruments alongside the guitarist to create an entire band. The complete Rock Band ensemble consists of a vocalist, a lead guitarist, a bass guitarist, and a drummer. The new instruments are a microphone, a drum set, and upgraded Fender Stratocaster guitars for the lead and bass guitarists.
The extra peripherals will set the price of the game close to the $200 mark, but the success of Guitar Hero and Guitar Hero II makes the pricing easier to accept. If players are willing to pay $70-$90 for a single-player guitar game, $200 doesn't sound unreasonable to get the full four-player band experience. We caught up with Harmonix producer Daniel Sussman to find out more about the Rock Band hardware.
GameSpot: Will I be missing out if I use an older guitar model such as the Gibson SG or the X-Plorer, or will I be able to retrofit it with new accessories? Perhaps t... More »
Hacker Robinsond has open-sourced the schematics sources and details that are required to make your your own PIC interface required to perform the timing attack that allows you to boot the 1888 base kernel. This means even if you have burned fuses and dont know your CPU key, you can boot to the respective kernel and update the exploitable kernel.
The timing attack is working well now, the software has been released for testing and if no major problems are found then it will be available at the end of the week. The first release will require an Infectus modchip and a "... More »
TicHack states: I was playing around with some TIFF image on Fw 1.93US when i found out something very interesting. After the TIFF show up on the Memory Card I copy it in the HDD. Unfortunately the console doesn't read the TIFF and it give me Corrupted Data. Then I viewed the TIFF from the Photo Menu after I tooked the HDD OFF and I viewed it again then I scrolled the XMB on the Right Side and then very SLOWLY to the Left side and the we go the Ps3 didn't stop working. I can go into Game Data Utility - Save Data Utility and I can use the TRIANGLE (e.g Eject Disc, Copy etcc) also plug in External Devices and so ON... Just try it.

"First off, let me get this out of the way right up front: This is not the 'fall dashboard update.'
Today the team is releasing a minor system update via Xbox Live. Over the next few hours, when you sign in to Xbox LIVE, you'll receive a prompt to accept this mandatory update. What's in this update? Much like the update last month, the only thing this minor release will do is prepare your Xbox 360 for the Big Button Pad that is being released this holiday. Why do we need to release this update now? Simple: The certification team needs time to test the new controller against the retail hardware/software combination before it hits stores.
One more thing: no new features beyond this big button pad support are included in this update and, once again, this is not the 'fall dashboard upgrade.' When I have firm details on the next major update, I will share them."
Needless to say, if you have anything resembling a hacked 3... More »
When it comes to offroad racing titles, you'd be hard-pressed to find a developer more experienced, praised and passionate than Rainbow Studios. The development house has been cranking out offroad games for nearly a decade now, starting with 1998's PC release of Motocross Madness. Now, the studio is ramping up to its seventh title, MX vs. ATV Untamed, set for release on December 17th.
With its first title for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, Rainbow Studios started from scratch and built MX vs. ATV Untamed from the ground up. This means that aside from having prettier visuals and more expansive online play, the game also features a more robust physics engine that not only allows for more precise interaction with the environment, but more personalization in ...
