PlayStation Plus Content Updates: Terraria is Free for Members

50°
15w ago - Sony Senior Community Specialist Kristine Steimer announced today that Terraria is free for PS Plus Members as part of this weeks PlayStation Plus content updates.

To quote: Grab some of your friends and explore a 2D sandbox world where you can gather materials to craft, build whatever you desire and fight monsters like harpies and demon eyes.

Once you've gotten used to the regular monsters, there are several bosses you can work toward defeating like King Slime. Of course you should be relatively prepared for these encounters, so create some decent gear and weapons before you try to take them down.

There's a few different sales going on, first is our Only On PlayStation sale, featuring exclusive titles to our platforms, and then there are more sports titles discounted as a continued part of our Sports Sale.

You can download Terraria after the PlayStation Store updates tomorrow, 6/17.

41w ago - Today 505 Games Senior Brand Manager Richard Gittins announced Terraria officially arrives on PlayStation Vita.

To quote: We're delighted to be giving PS Vita players the chance to jump into the world of Terraria, and satisfy the requests of so many fans in the process.

The core game that so many Terrarians know and love remains the same, however the Vita has allowed us to introduce a bunch of new features and functionality, making the Vita version super-fun to play and great looking at the same time!

It's the revamped control system that's seen the most focus this time around, in terms of really delivering something new and unique; introducing touch support to make the gameplay experience more immediate, tactile, and absorbing.

You can use touch controls to combine and craft intuitively within the item interface, but also when digging, building, and creating your own environments - this time with added finesse.

You can also jump in and enjoy online multiplayer with up to eight players, whether that's battling each other in a fight for survival, or teaming up to take on bosses and build bigger and better worlds together.

Not only that, but you've got the added benefits of cross platform play and cross save with your PS3. Play Terraria against...

505 Games: Indie Adventure Terraria is Coming to PlayStation Vita

79w ago - 505 Games Producer David Welch has confirmed today that indie adventure Terraria is coming to PlayStation Vita.

To quote: Your voices have been heard, and it's my great pleasure to announce that after much discussion the teams at 505 Games, Engine Software, and Re-Logic have decided to continue our exciting journey together and bring Terraria to PS Vita!

That's right, folks - Terraria will be available to play anytime, anywhere. It's almost like we never sleep!

Ever since we announced that Terraria was coming to PS3, we've been overwhelmed by requests for a Vita version. We're tremendous fans of the PS Vita system, and with its touch controls, dual analog sticks, gorgeous display, and robust online features, it seemed like a natural fit. PS Vita is a great platform for digital games in particular, and we couldn't be more excited to be a part of it.

For those who haven't heard of Terraria, it's a sandbox adventure in the style of our favorite "Metroidvania" games - an indie darling on PC that has gathered an impassioned community and sold over two million copies.

As a sandbox game, it has all the endless possibilities you've come to expect - you can build with dozens of blocks and craft hundreds of items - yet it's unique in how easy it is to pick up...
