18w ago - Action Button Entertainment Founder and Director Tim Rogers announced that Ten by Eight launches today on PlayStation Mobile.
Below are the details, to quote: Over the last few months, we've been working on a couple of great games for PlayStation Mobile. We're launching one right the heck now, a puzzle game, called Ten By Eight.
"Puzzle game" might be putting it too generally. I like to think of it as an "abstract strategy game with really fun graphics and music". You can call it a puzzle game if you want though! I won't cry.
With Ten By Eight, we made a game that I wanted to play - and I sure have played it a lot, and I'm still not bored.
I swear I've played it over 200 hours myself - which is normal, given that I, uh, directed the darn thing, though I swear that at least 80 of those have been recreationally, on the final version of the game. So, there's, well... my stamp of approval, at least.
It's playable on all PlayStation Certified devices with simple touch controls and the PS Vita version supports buttons.
I spent a large percentage of my childhood with a Rubik's Cube in my hands - I even Rubik's Cubed while reading books - so when Tetris first came out, my brain exploded. I've played dozens of puzzle games since...

It's been a long road for the team getting their first game out on both PS3 and PS Vita at the same time but they've done it without a hitch!
We'd like to take the opportunity now to thank everyone who's taken the time to support us during development, played the game at local events and tweeted nice things about us. We hope you all love the finished product and continue to feed back to us any comments you might have.
Now that it's out, we expect to see many brave citizens battling online, so we've put together our top 10 tips for playing the game. Read them well - they may give you the edge online!
• X to dash and catch - Pressing the X button will make your team perform a speedy dash – essential for avoiding incoming projectiles. If you're a bit more confident, you can dash into an incoming object and snatch it out of the air to quickly return it your opponent! This is a very useful move in heated battles.
• Dash and Bash - As well as being a defensive move, dash can also be used offensively. See an oncoming...
162w ago - Today President & CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment of America Jack Tretton has shared a video as part of celebrating ten years of the Playstation 2 with a look back.
To quote: It has been a busy few months here at PlayStation headquarters. We've just recently celebrated 15 incredible years as a leading innovator in the consumer entertainment space, launched a groundbreaking new product called the PlayStation Move, and we're closing in on a truly remarkable year for PS3.
While we can probably spend a whole blog post talking about all unbelievable excitement and momentum around PS3, I'd like to take a moment to acknowledge a tremendous milestone today - PS2 hits its 10th anniversary.
There is no better testament of our longevity as a brand and our true leadership in bringing forward technology to the masses, than what we've accomplished with the PS2. The PS2 continues to be a defining moment in our legacy and we're so thankful to you, our most passionate and loyal fans who've been with us since its inception.
When the platform launched back in October 2000, the industry was forever changed by the introduction of a device that came built in with a DVD/CD player and offered Internet connectivity and online...

To quote: With Alien Breed: Impact launching in the U.S. tomorrow, we've pulled together some (hopefully!) fascinating things you may not know about the game. First, though, you might want to see what Alien Breed: Impact looks like in action.
Alien Breed: Impact is a re-imagining of the classic Amiga games. The original Alien Breed is remembered as one of the foremost games released on the Amiga.
Launched in 1991 and developed and published by Team17, it proved to be a huge success, with the Special Edition version spending an incredible 33 unbroken weeks at the top of the UK sales charts. A sequel was released in 1993 (Alien Breed 2: The Horror Continues), followed by Alien Breed: Tower Assault and a couple of 3D editions, both of which also won numerous awards.
"Heart of Darkness" helped inspire Alien Breed: Impact. The game's main influences are obviously...
