82w ago - Devil's Details Director Steve Oldacre has announced today that Table Top Tanks will be bringing explosive AR to PS Vita on May 22, 2012 with a video trailer below!
To quote: I'm Steve and I'd love to tell you about the latest great PS Vita Augmented Reality game Table Top Tanks, which we developed at Devil's Details in Sheffield, UK.
When we were asked if we'd like to develop Table Top Tanks by our friends at SCEE we couldn't believe our luck: Who doesn't like blowing stuff up with Tanks? And we got to play with and help develop PlayStation's AR technology too. So, we said "Yes please!" and got down to work.
So, what's in Table Top Tanks? Firstly, there are the tanks: They're quite quick, nimble and fun to drive and you can choose from 10 different colors.
Their main cannon is pretty powerful and you can upgrade its shell type by running over pickups; my favorite is the bouncing missile - they're great fun to spray into the edge of the arena and watch them cause carnage and confusion as they bounce around.
To get you started playing the game we've included a single player campaign, which will teach you how to play and challenge your tank skills.
But the real fun comes making your own maps using the simple editor. You...
92w ago - Sony Senior Producer Harvard Bonin has shared a video today spotlighting the new Starhawk PS3 Beta 1.3 update, which features 32 players, tanks, jetbikes and more!
To quote: Finally, the day has come. We're launching our Beta Update 1.3 today! We're really happy with this new content and we hope you like it, too. Check out this video to see what I'm talking about...
Since our Starhawk Beta launched in November, we've collected soooo much great info. The bugs found would never been nailed down without your efforts and we are confident we'll be giving you one of the best online experiences on PS3 with the final version of the game.
Many balance and feature changes were made as a direct result of player testing. Please accept a sincere "THANK YOU!" from our team.
We have one final big step to make before release. Update 1.3 includes a bunch of new features and fixes including:
32 Player Map: Planet Dust
If you thought 8 vs 8 was fun, things just got EPIC!
This vehicle is all about speed, speed, and more speed. As it's a very hard target to hit, use the Sidewinder for quick hit and run attacks, fast road kills,...
To quote: Here is a update/port/remake/whatever of Neo Tanks. It was originally made over 9000 years ago for Windows, eventually remade for PS3 with the leaked SDK, later ported as my first 3D Wii release and is now back on PS3 via PSL1GHT.
It's still pretty much a glorified screen saver and it actually performs worse then it's first PS3 version made with the leaked SDK and it's Wii counterpart (rendering polygons on screen seems to be rather slow with PSL1GHT).

'Turbo! Pack' Development Diary 9: 'Tanks A Lot'
Sam Dickinson, Designer
The Bridge Builder was a tricky proposition, because it had to be able to move around easily, but also create a bridge that the tank could cross (and the tank is a pretty weighty engine of destruction).
Also, the gaps had to be big enough that the tank couldn't just roll across them, and so the actual bridge emitting bit was getting a bit big and unwieldy. So we made bridge sections that cleverly expanded immediately after emitting. Not only is it useful, but it looks cool too!
We found that you can have fun emitting bridge sections while swinging the bridge emitting arm around. We also found that the bridge sections can get in the way, and that you can just emit lots on one gap to easily bridge it, so we limited number of bridge sections that can be emitted to one at a time.
The tank was good fun, but we decided that what we also wanted something that actually fires missiles. Technically (here comes the science bit), the tank fires projectiles,...
223w ago - Today Gameloft's Philippe Laurens has announced that Battle Tanks will be hitting PSN this month for the PlayStation 3 console.
To quote: Battle Tanks features World War II tanks that face off against each other in hopes to blow the other to smithereens. You can play against the AI or co-op with a friend in Campaign Mode to overcome 50 maze and paint ball-like levels.
There's also a fun multiplayer option also allows two to four people to challenge each other in Death Match modes or Capture the Flag mode.
Nothing beats blasting through walls with rockets, scorching enemies with flame throwers and carefully calculating the trajectory of bullets to win battles. The controls are simple: the left stick moves your tank and the L2 and R2 buttons are used for firing.
The aiming guide is highlighted when you hold down the L1 button and comes in extremely handy when you're trying to stealthily eliminate enemies on the field. To reduce the waiting time when a player dies, we added a new feature: Gun Turrets! When you've lost all your lives, you still can play and help your partner win the game.
As soon as an early version of Battle Tanks was installed on our PS3 test kit, it quickly became the most popular attraction in the Gameloft Studio. Everyone who passed...
